When is a game finished?

I don't generally play games with % Complete stats, so my general rule is "when I can run through a play in my sleep and I've figured out every one of the game's angles."

I think a game's "finished" when I'm "finished" playing it. Sure, getting to the end of the story (if there is one) is a visual guide but if the game has replay value at all then, for me, it's not finished, only the story is. That could mean just getting all the hidden bits & pieces or simply living it up multi-player style.

Ultimately, once the game is collecting dust on my shelf instead of being played until my fingers bleed, it's effectively "finished" for me.
