When the hell did the Rating change on this?

I was just in Grainger games with a friend so he could get fallout 3 when i was looking over the DS games and found Hotel Dusk a game which i own and enjoyed for its unique story and design.

but when i got the game it was rated Teen or 12+ something like that.

NOW its Rated 18! WHAT THE HELL???

I can understand if it was like the movie Shoot 'em Up but its nothing like that.

when did the rating change? what the hell?

Anyone else seen anything like this happen?

Most likely some parent complained and esrb re-assessed it.

IIRC Hotel Dusk has quite a dark plot (not played it but read a couple of reviews), esrb are a dozy bunch and probably didn't play it through properly as it wasn't obviously violent in the way shooters and ssand box game tend to be.

I remember that happening with Perfect Dark, my version has no age rating beyond the little tick box thing on the back that says 16 and up, but it quickly gained a massive 18 sticker.

That being said, there's some pretty freaky shit going on in Hotel Dusk, so it's not strange that it's rated 18.

Or it could be due to different rating companies giving the game different ratings, and the company having to market the game as the upper rating level.

I checked the box i got at home. its a 12. sure the plot is a little dark but making hotel dusk an 18 is stupid!
