OT: 13-17 sucked pretty hard as I recall. I mean, I'm still a terminally awkward individual at 24 but those years were in a whole different league. However, I doubt that's unusual, teenagers being teenagers and all.

I'd say all of my childhood to maybe 18, I was barely even able to talk back then, I mean , if you tried to speak to me I would only answer by nodding or shaking my head, in fact a lot of people thought I was mute it was kinda funny, and even when I talked it was in really short and to the point sentences, I'm very sure you're thinking that sort of behaviour on a teenager surely most make people think you're retarded or something like that, but considering that I was really short to the point that people still thought I was 10 when I was 17 it didn't look that odd, but then I turned 18 and bam I suddenly grew up, and now I'm fairly tall, so anyway considering that I'm still very silent though not that much and the fact that I always look bored and uninterested, I really doubt I'll stop being awkward but I'd say I'm well past my awkward stage by now.
I suppose between 14 and 17. I had very long hair and dressed up with t-shirts with skulls on them etc... I had a t-shirt where a woman was sodomized by Satan, but I wasn't allowed to wear it at school after a day ^^. Listened to a lot of metal etc, was a bit rude and rebellious to my teachers. Even though I never got scores below 80% and played classical piano quite well. (I even got a 100% on a physics exam). I think I was just bored at that school and that's why i was the way I was.
Then I became 18 2 years ago and was on my way to University, so I gave myself a change to "reboot". Cut my hair rather short and now I dress rather neat but casual. Still listen to heavy metal and classical piano so that hasn't changed. But i'm not bored anymore

Never had an awkward stage.
I have this uncanny ability to charm almost anybody I want to. (no, really)

For example I love science and reading up on it but I do awful in exams
I love games but I lack the artistic and mathematical mindset to make them
I enjoy theatre but rarely get a part in my local youth society
and to top it of I appear smart (use of long words, knowing a small bit about everything but not enough to be seen as "good" at it)
So now as the end of high school approaches I have no idea what I want to do.

Then I kinda got humour, and learned to take a joke. I've got on pretty well since then.

My awkward stage started at the age of about 23. It was hideous. I lost the ability to communicate with others almost entirely, to the extent where even going to the shops and interacting with the cashiers was hell for me. Thankfully mustering the courage to dedicate myself to four days' voluntary work a week has helped me to improve things to the point where I'm almost normal again at the age of 25.

Pretty much this. Except when I branched out I had the time of my life and by the time I reached University I didn't want to make new friends to replace the great ones I had just made. But oh well.Amethyst Wind said:

age 11-20, in my second year of university I gained more confidence in myself and i can say I am glad to get out of it!
For me I'd say primary school.
For other students they'd say I was still in it in secondary school, because being different and being picked on is apparently a sign that you need to come out of your shell. These are the kinds of people that thought since I am friends with the nerdiest person in school that the reason is that I can't make other friends...despite having mutual friends with the people who thought this...
Although, I have Asperger's, so my whole life is probably an awkward stage.
And I can tell there will be someone who reads that last line and facepalms. But I still have very limited interests in which I don't try very hard in so it's easy to find someone more devoted than me. Even though I cna easily find people with similar interests, I still have toruble being interested in them, don't make many friendes, and don't manage to spend much time with friends, I've always been single, and I don't even have birthday parties.
