Well since I live in Ireland it won't make a bit of difference here. This place is as sunny as the dark side of the moon. I'll just continue on as normal.

Well the MAIN problem is going to be the collapse of infrastructure and food growth for a year or so, about 90% of the population CANNOT be supported without the regular deliveries from other countries of food, toys and fuel etc. The massive reduction in fuel and other goods would lead to drastic reductions in the amount of good deliveries to supermarkets, leading to a slow death for most of the population.

Instead of asking yourself, what will I do to ensure my survival for the first couple of weeks, ask yourself, where will my next meal this time next year come from?
I don't have anything against necessary cannibalism. Salt's normally packaged fairly well where I live so I should find a few jars while scavenging to preserve the meat. Knowing where the secluded communities and people of less vitality are is a plus.

I currently live in Missoula, MT. So I will probably die in a horrible cloud of ash and debris.

Honestly, there is no plan anyone in the United States could have to survive this scenario. Most of the central north US would die within days if not hours of the eruption from the firestorms, ash and toxic gases. The US as a nation would collapse, and, depending on the severity of the eruption, the rest of the world is looking at anywhere from several months to a few years of ash blocking the sun. This would make agricultural yields marginal at best. And then the Ice Age would worsen (many Geologists still consider us to be in an Ice Age, people).

My survival plan: be on Mars in a self sufficient colony before this happens.

I'll be buried under 8 inches of ash, so probably die an agonizing death as my lungs are torn to shreds by the hot bits of rock I'm inhaling.

Is it really in danger of blowing anytime soon? Cause if not then I'll just continue with my regularly scheduled programming
The Regular Schedule for the Yellowstone Volcano is: We're way past due for an explosion... So yeah, it can happen at any time, and probably soon...

Quit talking out of your ass.
Sorry, I had heard from the History Channel Recently that it's suppose to be due for another eruption. Sorry...

I live in Illinois so my immediate concern would be the nearby gigantic fault line that is also overdue for release. Last time it quaked the Mississippi river (damn big river) flowed backwards. My guess is that an explosion of Yellowstone's magnitude would cause it to go off. Other than that, monitor the wind patterns and plan accordingly. Probably would head up to Michigan due to the abundance of people who are used to the cold, have close bonds, and can hunt as well as the wildlife that would make great food sources. Not to mention the fact that anyone else traveling would head south due to the whole Ice age thing. Also I would definitely would be hitting the shooting range more often if I got some forewarning.

Apology accepted, and never trust the history channel haha :D

Also, it wouldn't be too terrible if you edited that link into your OP....

Die horribly, as I live close enough to Yellowstone to be instantly buried in freshly extradited lava.

(Then again, maybe Robert Brockway needs to be less sensationalistic, and I'm wrong.)

If I'm wrong, and I survive the flying ash and lava, I use my Edmontonian powers (+50% Cold Resistance), body and metabolism type (+20% Cold Resistance) and decent endurance (+10% Cold Resistance) to not die.

Well, shoot, I'll probably have to cancel my 21st December 2012 apocalypse plans. I hate it when a catastrophic event screws up your calendar.

I sometimes wish a catastrophic event does take place, just so that all the doomsayers can get it out of their system. Oh wait, they won't have any system left. They'll be dead!

I live in California, so if and when it goes there won't be much to do but kick back and welcome the sweet release of death.
We should have a competition, who dies first. You'll probably win, but it's worth a shot.

There's one in Germany too, so I'm screwed either way (my country shares a border with Germany and the Atlantic).

Be happy I'm not living anywhere near Yellowstone! I think North Carolina is far enough away that we'll escape the worst of it. If it gets too bad, I could get on a boat and head East, or south to the Caribbean.
I remember hearing we'd get about a millimeter of ash were Yellowstone to erupt. Not good, but better than several tons of ash, and rock, and super heated debris.

North Carolina for the win!

Since I'm going to die anyways, I'll beat up some drug dealers and kill myself with the heroin I loot from them. Supposedly one of the most pleasing ways to die.
But loot is randomly generated for low level drug dealers. If you want the legendary drug drops you have to take out the boss, but that requires at least 4 other people.
