Depends if I see it coming or not. Using Fallout 3 as a recent example:

If I have just rounded a corner into three super mutants and have very little in the way of health and AP, it's usually a relatively polite "damn it!"

If, on the other hand, I have just exploded for some inexplicable reason, what usually follows is a stream of expletives coupled with shouting at the controller. The length of the outburst is directly proportional to the length of time it was since I last saved the game...
