So far I'm averaging 2 posts a day, so by the time I hit 10k I will be 8 years older. So I don't have to worry that much. (All numbers are ball park figures only.)

I know that at the beginning of February I'm doing a one year of consistent posting anniversary. Possibly something for 5k and definetly something for 10k when the time comes.

Knowing me I'll probably miss it...
But I've been thinking of writing a story in three parts, one at 8000, one and 9000, and the finale at 10k.
That's actually a pretty good idea.
And hopefully it'll help me fit as many of you guys in as possible!

If I get there, i'll just post normally then go "Woo, 10k" in parentheses or something.

I can't believe the post count of some people. I'm just coming up to 1000, and I've been at the Escapist for 2 years. I haven't joined ages ago, and not ever come to it. I'm on the Escapist at least once a day every day. Usually far more than that. I read the articles, forums, watch the videos and maybe post a comment or two if I have something interesting to add to the discussion. How can people be at 10,000 posts in less than a year? 30+ posts a day?

I think people who celebrate that sort of thing are tossers. It's not something you should be proud of to be honest. I've hit 10k on a forum before and all I could think was "Oh god look at how I waste my life away on my computer isn't this a painful reminder" *blows party whistle*

As cool as it is to have made such a contribution to a site like this, a "celebration" is a bit unwarranted.

Nothing. It's just egotistical and vain.

I have been there.

And I have not done that.

Why WOULD I?
Exactly.
Thirded. Look at me, I can post on teh Internetz! Watch in awe as I create a self-congratulatory thread with no redeeming discussion value!

Now if somebody wants to make a celebration thread in honor of somebody else, that seems different. It's still dumb and a waste of space, but it's also kind of sweet.

Chalk it up to Forum Games, posting for the sake of posting and not understanding the Edit button.

I doubt I'll do anything for my 10k. Not only because it isn't really special, but because everyone else here will reach 10k before me and the next big thing will be 100k. :p

10,000 posts is a little excessive. Neither Hubilub nor Furburt have been here for more than eight months, and their respective post averages are 48 and 46 posts per day. I'm not a person to easily convice of someone's internet addiction, but maybe you guys try something outside the house, or at the very least, find somewhere else on the internet to supplement The Escapist.

OT: I will do nothing, if I am ever to reach 10,000 posts.

Yeah. This. I refuse to be labelled a post whore, so I'll probally just get to 9999 and quit.

Also, this man gets an honourable mention.

[sup]Honestly, the only reason I'm even at 5k is because of the RP Section. And even now, I feel dirty...[/sup]

I'll probably think "I'm going to celebrate" Then go straight past it, like today, when I went straight past 3000. Damn it!

I doubt anyone will know who I am, even if I did get to 10,000 posts. My celebratory thread would get about 10 views and a couple of replies.

On the topic, I recently reached 1000, and did nothing. But for 10k, I'm going to do a review of The Escapist.
