By that I mean your boy/girlfriend, fiance or wife/husband.

I'm 18 and have never had a girlfriend or went on a date. So I'd like to have an idea of where to find my soul mate.

Since I broke up with her a while ago, I'll take that question to be inclusive of such scenarios as exes.

At therapy... not joking.

On leave when I was in the army.

She was living in Weston Super Mare and a few of us thought we'd have a seaside break for a change.

Went out to a club and she was their with a few friends.

Got talking and went out for a drink the next day. Spent the next week and a bit getting .. er .. close and then did the long distance thing when I went back to the army.

We did that for a few years, i'd come stay with her when I was home and we'd write and such when I was away.

We'd had 3 kids before I considered retiring from active service.

Seems someone had a different idea and I had my left kneecap shattered in combat so was medically discharged. After that we moved to Burnley and got married and had another kid.

Been together for 8 years now with 4 kids together and 1 step daughter who's an absolute star.

There are alot of relationship threads popping up right now... Not saying it's bad, just an observation.

OT: I meet her at school. I was a bit shy because it was a new group of friends and I was cautious about upsetting people but I got particularly close to her and eventually knew I had feelings for her so I asked her out, she said yes and it's been the happiest 5 months of my life.

My one very serious relationship, now ended, was with a girl I met because I was trying to get one of her friends to bump uglies with me.. Friend didn't want to have fun, but in the end it didn't bother me because I found myself much more attracted to my ex, and not just in a physical way.

Yeah, not the most romantic first meeting around, but eh, it worked. :p

In an online game over seven years ago, after we got bored of said game, we just talked online for five years and she was/is a great friend. I fell in love with her, then, a year later, she did, too. Neither of us were looking for this sort of relationship with each other, it just happened.

The fiancé and I met originally on Gamespot through a friend I made at college. She got me to join this gaming site and he just so happened to be her friend. We talked for quite a bit and we developed deep feelings for eachother. I guess you could say we fell for eachother before we knew what eachother looked like. :)

It's a long distance relationship with me living in the US and he lives in the UK. But we visit as much as possible and we've been going strong for almost 3 years now. He proposed to me on our last visit with eachother this past June. We went on vacation together, just me and him to Blackpool and had a great time. :) Had a beautiful dinner in a nice restaurant and that's where he proposed.

Apparently we first met when some guy in my class at CEGEP introduced me to her. Surprisingly, neither of us remembers that.

So what I count as the ACTUAL time we met...it was in the university cafeteria when one of my friends got a text from my future GF, and said "yeah....a friend of mine just broke up with her BF, and she probably needs some support...mind if she comes by?". And that's literally how I met her.

Then, a few months later (we'd become friends and spent a lot of free periods together), I asked her out. Six months later, and it's going great. :)

Aw, that's so sweet! I always thought long distance was the hardest kind of relationship to pull off. Also, hooray for a reference to my hometown!

My partner and and I met five years ago in college, where we both discovered we were geeks with a weird sense of humour. Queue rom-com scenario of boy likes girl from afar, girl realises she likes boy after moving to bigger city and coming back, boy and girl get together and live happily ever after (so far).
