Barrie, ON, Canada. There are a lot of geeky people around me, so I don't have to look too far. In fact, I don't even have to show I'm geeky in any way, everyone just assumes that everyone is geeky to some degree.

You're not the only one. In fact, every time I see you post something, I read it in a grumpy voice because of your avatar.

How could our junkies possibly talk faster than the average Irish person.
I believe it involves quantum mechanics.

Not at the same time right? Because that sounds awful.

My friends don't share the interests that I have in things like games, and Magic, but we all have other interests that we share so it's not an issue to where we have nothing to talk about.
I would hope so. If your friends and you had nothing to talk about, it'd be really odd that they were your friends.

That sounds more like family. >.>

After I hit 'post' I realized how stupid and obvious it is, but then I thought, "Fuck it, I'm sick and I don't feel like trying to make that thought make any sort of sense at the moment."

If Game Grumps taught me anything, it's to use the 'Fuck It' adjustment, and lo I did. :D

In my defense, I've seen people who do hang around with people who have absolutely nothing in common with them for...Whatever reason, so it wasn't so much a "that's stupid and obvious!" Thing.

I always find it a touch concerning, but what can you so?

Although, honestly, a "fuck it" attitude can sometimes be a good thing.

I am from Ontario Canada myself about a hour outside Toronto. I generally wear things that show my interests and I will talk about what ever is on my mind so ya sometimes it is game or comic related :p

Hey another Kiwi! You'll be surprised at how many of us use The Escapist.

I'm a Hamiltonian born and raised, and to answer your second question I don't have a single shirt (apart from some uniforms) that doesn't have some gaming/geeky reference or logo on them.
Ah Hamilton! I spent my high school years there at Fairfield College. Not a big fan of the tron, but it is where I got all of my geeky tendencies, so I'm thankful for that.

I'm sure you can squeeze some references on to your uniforms. I have a one-up and an aperture badge that I wear on my work shirt.

Edit: Oh yeah, and Hamilton Armageddon last year was awesome. Got to meet Ron Marz!

Yeah! New Zealand represent!

Jaffa reporting in. Born in Christchurch, but got moved around a whole bunch as a kid. Finally made it back to Auckland around four years ago. Will probably head off again after I graduate.

And I don't wear my geekiness on my sleeve. If someone brings it up, like "Have you ever played WoW?" then I'll fucken go for it. Otherwise no, I'm not wearing Mario t-shirts or anything. None of my friends right now are all that geeky anyway, really.

I'm from that dark place that Simba should never go to..... New Jersey.
Also I mainly stay indoors and away from people, so the only "nerdy" people I meet, I meet through my brother, pax, and university.

QLD, Australia, Brisbane to be exact (Yahtzee lives here I think?)
Also so many people here from Tasmania? That's surprising.

I'm from Yorkshire in England (Lets call it Leeds >.>) and I don't really own anything geeky related but I do read comic books on the train usually.
If I'm with friends, I'll talk about geeky stuff and don't care who overhears but I won't talk to a stranger and say something like "omg nooob!"

If I see someone with a shirt that's one of my interests, I'll point it out and compliment them. Although someone came into work with a trollface shirt shirt on, I said "Heh, trollface" and he just looked at me blankly...

Sí correcto.
You'd potentially like his book about the killer Jam, he set it in the CBD.

Do you get to just hang out at Mana Bar all the time?

I was born in Baltimore, Maryland, USA on November 3, 1989. I lived there for 4 years until my dad decided to move his job closer to my mom's parents in Kansas. So I lived in Lawrence, Kansas for the next 14 years until it was time to go do my undergrad. During breaks I was back in my hometown of Lawrence, when I was at school I was in Manhattan, Kansas. I had a sizable amount of geeky friends, along with myself being geeky, in both places. And now I'm in Ames, Iowa, geeky as ever as I go through graduate school.

Resident of Launceston, Tasmania, Australia...

And, as a brony, I wear pony-related gear all the time...
Although either people don't notice, or are afraid to get their geek on outside in public...

That being said, I do only wear "low-key" pony stuff, so, you have to know what it is to understand it...

>Where are you from?

Bend, OR.

>Do you rep your geeky nature outwardly for the world to see?

Yea, but not as a means of saying "hey lookie here, nerd alert!" I more or less just wear the shirts I do (Riddler, Orange Lantern symbol, Zero Punctuation, etc.) just because I like them. No ulterior motive.

>Have you ever made friends this way?

Acquaintances, yes. Friends? Nope. Takes more than just merchandise to connect to a person.

I'm from a small village in the north-east of Tasmania, Australia. The little asshole of the country. Nothing but fucking farms out here, dude. It's pretty lame. Doesn't help that it's a good 2-hour drive to any major urban area. But eh, at least the internet is surprisingly stable. There's that at least.

Edit: And no, I don't display any kind of geekiness. My appearance is influenced by my musical passions, rather than games.

Well I feel just a tad misplaced here, being from Denmark, though happy to hear there's also one norwegian, but I guess being a geek is just as international as belonging to some religion...

I'm gonna get smited down any minute now, so I should end quickly.

I'm from Denmark, Ringsted. This somewhat large place that is more like just another spot on the highway.

And no, I don't go around with a big sign strapped to my back saying "Rolling a d20 Diplomacy check" or such... But I do shoot of the random quote that won't make much sense unless you have read some books or played some P&P.
But I did have to search around a bit before I found a group of likeminded people, helped by one of the "youth centers" that had Roleplaying "class".

And I can hear the thunderclouds, so

I'm from England in a place somewhere in between Birmingham and Wolverhampton. My wardrobe is mildly geeky but i wouldn't say I'm trying to advertise the fact.

Though a lot of people seem to wear shirts with 'geek' written on them than actual geeky clothing (I'm working on the principle than anyone wearing a shirt proclaiming to be a geek is immediately disqualified).

Born in Plymouth, Montserrat. A small quiet island in the Caribbean. I live in the UK now and I miss the place loads but unfortunately isn't around anymore. So my place of birth, the entire capital is gone. If you wanna know more you can research it and ask me.

Yes I express who I am openly. I live in East London and I don't really feel that I fit in cause I don't speak slang and I am a comic, movie and gaming nerd. But hey I don't really care if they judge me for it cause I am who I am and I don't struggle to find my true self.
