Attention earned, if only curiosity. So, you are using a separate and simple input/output device to connect to a mainframe or server that then connects to the internet for you? Do you mean a "terminal server", a device to connect devices with serial ports to a network?

If you mean your laptop or desktop computer; commonly known as a "Personal Computer" or "PC", the "complicated" (I imagine you mean maybe "technical") term is a microcomputer.
