My good friend from secondary school introduced me to unskippable and zero punctuation in January of 2009. I did not get an account until October or so.
I get peaks of when I post a lot of opinions but mostly I have a lack of personal time considering I am in school, have a full time job, a part time job and everything else in between.
many people I know have other gotten banned because of prissy people taking comments too seriously, or have had other commitments. it is just time that has happened that's what.

If I remember correctly, Furb left after Teddy got banned, and Hub followed suit.
Yeah, then they returned for a bit before being perma-banned.
Furb got perma-banned for calling Spinwhiz a **** and Hub got banned for advertising a blog post called ShittyWoman, I think.

I have no idea why I know this. :D

I figure that they all probably bailed when every thread was either a recommend thread, a "zombie apocalypse" thread, a "the last ___ you ___ is now ___" thread, or a MLP thread. I haven't really been around long at all, and even I see that the same threads pop up in about 3 week cycles. It gets old and doesn't really give anyone an incentive to participate in a thread that is exactly like one they've already posted in. It isn't really anybody's fault, it's just kind of the nature of things.

Wow, a comment from someone who's an older member (albeit only by one month) than me!
Oh the difference a month makes when it's at the end or start of a year, I like my nice 2007 under my name.

I for one had to go to University, and dont really have the time to go posting, most of my time is spent gaming, wanking or doing my work.

As for the others? They're probably watching from the internet shadows, as we usually do, like a group of elder gods watching to see how the new race rises and what they do differently.

I for one like to think of us as internet ninjas, although the only reason I came here and made an account was because of ZP.

If its any consolation I'm still here I've just been in the RP and forum games sections more than the off topic. This is mostly due to the fact that I enjoy the RP and forum games section much more and somewhat due to the fact that the topics here are becoming less and less appealing and I have been seeing more users who I just don't like. You can most likely find a lot of older members in the RP, forum games and user groups.

Came here for Unforgotten Realms way back in the day. Than I watched some LRR stuff, Doraleous. But now other than Feed Dump. ZP, don't flame me for this, but it's become a stale piece of bread.

Only thing keeping me around is the Pony Chat group. And Feed Dump.... I guess. Mostly the ponies.

eh, I mostly lurk nowadays. I don't really feel like adding to conversations much anymore.

I came here for 'zero punctuation'. I watched videos and lurked the forums for a year and a bit before actually joining when i realised it would be more fun/interesting to participate in discussions and whatnot.
Same here. Finally made the leap this past summer because I thought I should be more vocal in the internet that wasn't 4chan or Reddit.

I feel the same way.

Most of the time, I feel like I don't belong a part of the Escapist community as much as I used to. The website has changed, in some way that I don't quite understand. It depresses me.

I didn't even realize that I'd been here since '08. I feel like I've just... always been here.
Lately I haven't posted much (not like anyone would care either way), either because:
A) I realized I was just raging/asking for a ban and deleted what I'd written before posting
B) Got ninja'd so hard there was no reason to post
C) Don't care enough to reply to any given topic
or D) Facebook commenting was easier to get to

I'm still watching ZP, as well as MovieBob's stuff, and that's pretty much it. I lurk here and there, but I don't post as often because I don't really care too much. I'm still here just about every day, but to the community I don't have much of a visual presence, and I generally keep to myself. Just like in real life.

I've seen quite a few 2006 and earlier users but not too often. They get banned or move on, like what happens in most forums.

Your post made me think of this.

Anywho, I came because of ZP being previewed on X-Play and lurked for a year or so before getting into the forums.

I'm still here. And yes, I miss some of the older members. There are not enough familiar faces, as it were, these days. Oh well.

On topic: I noticed the site because of Zero Punctuation, and I was enticed to join because the community seemed intelligent. I've enjoyed my time so far, and I don't think I'll be leaving just yet.

Well, I'm an '08 that's still here. I don't think I was ever notable though.

Many left due to different things going on, but the ones that are still here mostly stick to forum games and/or user groups I think. I'm still here though and I will always be here because I am on a never-ending quest to save my girlfriend! have nothing better to do...

Also, I came here for Unskippable and stayed for everything else.

EDIT: I'm not really that old, only been here for a little over a year, but I'm sure there's a few people that recognize me enough to be considered a regular-ish.

Yes, I'm quite annoyed that I'm not allowed to put the FEAR back into the hearts of users. I recall a time when the very mention of my name struck terror into the hearts of thousands.

Now my exploits seem forgotten, unrecognised for the glory that they were.
