Yeah that's true,I was just looking at the list of Developers Nintendo hires and the major names in the Third Party devs are Namco/Bandai and Capcom. Perhaps more will join that roster this year.

What, it went wrong? *checks sales figures* nope, not there. *checks core audience* yep, there getting the young gamers still. I'm not sure what your talking about.

Perhaps you thought the Wii would set forth more "hardcore" games. Well, there are already 2 systems doing that already. Unfortunately, the Wii is mostly for a more casual set.

We've established that already, we're now working towards the solution.

Wrong for whom, exactly?

While it's true that the Wii is perhaps not the best option for the hardcore gamer, that hardly means that it's somehow gone 'wrong'. It's serving a different group of gamers, gamers that are just as worthy and relevant as you are. It's rather arrogant to believe that because a particular console doesn't meet your specific gaming preferences, it's somehow wrong or bad.

It didn't. Most people complaining about the Wii probably haven't played a fraction of the games available for it, and wouldn't buy anything not made by Nintendo anyway. It might not be a good console for fans of First Person Shooters or RTS's but it's perfect for fans of retro, indie and more unique games like me.

We're saying the Wii has gone bad, not because it's not hardcore or graphically beautiful, it's because the majority of games are cheap cash-ins like horse-riding, babysitting, brain training games.

The games don't have to be hardcore. It can be a My Little Ponies game for all I care. As long as it's good, then there wouldn't be a problem. I mean, look at Peggle.

There seems to be some sort of trend in this thread revolving around hardcore, frankly what I mean is that instead of being a console which expanded itself, the Wii expanded the market, that isn't bad but it forgot about Nintendo's original fanbase, people who bought the Wii for a bloody console with a bloody stick shaped controller I can swing like a bloody lightsaber. Nintendo's restrictions when it comes to publishing may have scared devs away, the ports for the Wii seem to be of lower gameplay quality than others ( Not just graphically, but some games have had entire MODES taken out). The majority of the games are party games and there's nothing wrong with them but we wish for more decent titles instead of the once every few months. It's just an instrument for making money nowadays, some generic title to grab the occasional casual gamer but as I have mentioned earlier the casual gamer only buys occasional games, unlike a frequent gamer, doesn't have to be a 1337 CSS Sniper, but we want more Super Mario Galaxies and less Cooking Mamas.

Buy Madworld? Or No More Heroes?

And Wii didnt go wrong.
Madworld looks good, but I hate those comic type games like 13. But can it compete to the likes of Killzone 2 or Gears? According to Play,
this ---> http://www.play.com/Games/Wii/4-/9236834/101-In-1-Party-Megamix-Wii/Product.html is what we have to look forward to.
When I saw fun for all ages in the synopsis and the rating 3+, I thought another cash-in on success, great. Really Nintendo, is 101 very kiddy minigames that are things you could probably find for free on the internet in flash games, like the Four Second games which were actually good, the best you could do?

I don;t think that the Wii has gone wrong, Nintendo are smart, they know that all the Nintendo Fanboys and Fangirls will return, but they also know that while the PS3 and Xbox 360 have better graphics they dont have the same features as the Wii, for example, with the Xbox 360, to be able to play Xbox you have to connect to the internet, which can cost upto £40, and then you have to update the console, UNLESS you have the Elite version, in which case you can play ANYXbox game, but the elite verson can cost atleast £150 without games, I dont know about the PS3, but I assume that it is a similar process, whereas with the Wii, the only reason you would have to pay more to access the internet would be if you need ethernet cable to do so, and you can get the LAN adapter for £20 IF you need it,and you can play any gamecibe games from the off, and you can download channels and Virtual games for it, and in my opinion that makes the Wii the best console out there.

Sorry for doubleposting, It all costs money to buy the Wii points to buy the Browser, download the games and channels. And if you can get a decent match on SUper Smash Bros. Brawl in 15 minutes you're better than me.

Last time I heard, Nintendo was rolling in the money. If it went wrong, no one at Nintendo seems to notice.

A lot of "Hardcore" gamers just don't get it. Companies don't ALWAYS care if you like anything as an individual, especially when there are millions of others handing over their cash for what they are offering. And those "sell out" games some of you mention such as the cooking, horse back riding, and fashion games, make tons of money off children and bored housewives/husbands. I said it once and I'll say it again and again:

casual games = large demographic, large demographic > individuals, large demographic = $$$ that's money, honey.

As far as Nintendo is concerned, they're coming out winners.

But as far as anyone above the age of 10 is concerned, Nintendo is slowly eating away at itself.
