It's not very interesting, and I don't usually use this nick. Not sure why I did here, I guess I felt I needed a new one.

No that's due to my robotic logic mainframe.

My Escapist name is also my gaming name, It just seemed appropriate.

I draw a few cartoons when I'm not gaming. Redlac is one of the lead characters in one of them. I made the name up, but apparently there's a footballer of the same name somewhere. I've been using this name since about 2003 when I first started online gaming, before that I was boring and just used my real name.

You mean the thing that gave you the notion that a ninja hosting Iron Chef was actually funny?

Right on.

I make up my aliases randomly most of the time, except this one and its brother, Cyclobomber.

First I had made up Cyclobomber for an e-mail address. I was playing Bomberman on my DS all the time and just got my FTP, which I named Cyclohexane (after the chemical compound).
So, by mixing cyclohexane with Bomberman, I made Cyclobomber.
Later, while thinking about the Greek alphabet, I came up with Cyclomega.

Ta-da !!

I was a young girl, new to the world of Dungeons & Dragons. "They have silly names, right?" I assumed, and attempted to concoct a pretentious and whimsical name. I had recently heard that the Milky Way and Andromeda would collide, and the name Andromedy was floating around as a name for the new galaxy that would be formed. So, the first name was Andromedy. After that, I just thought up something that sounded cool paired with that. Larenxis. So I played as that character, and happy memories were developed.

Later in life, I joined The Escapist forum, and needed a name. In the past I've used small sections of proverbs and a made-up word my friends and I thought terribly clever but was in fact not when making names for the internet. So, in a desperate hurry to create an account, I thought of names from my past. And the halfling bard waded into my mind and out through my finger tips. It's unique at least, if hard for some people to spell. It's pronounced Lair-Enk-Sis, and I will answer to Larry, but remember I am not a guy and female pronouns are preferable.

But it is funny.

Anyways, mine I chose just as an early warning system really, hopefully if someone is offended by my mere name, they'll stop reading before they get to my post, which sometimes has a touch of dark humour.

I happen to like morbid, twisted and sick humour, at the same time, I do try to rein it in tho. I don't feel here is the kinda place where people get easily offended, oh and btw, Halo is pants, so was MGS 4, and all the Marios since 'world', etc etc. *tests offensiveness*

Most of my WOW characters are godawful puns too, my druid is Karmageddon, my frost mage is Crystaleyes, my Tauren warrior is Mootilator (yeah, I know that's very poor).

Magnetite is a dull looking rock with extraordinary properties. Like it I am dull grey in pallor and I attract paper-clips. When I have to enter a name in a single-player game, I use 'Testa' as in test a driving game, sim, etc. - boring but true. For Zelda games I always call myself 'there', it makes all the NPCs sound permanently surprised and extra well-mannered.

Flatearth came from the Flat earth society, depicting all that is wrong with the world. Fighting endlessly against things proven right. The righteous feel of people who claim their answers to people when even a child can see how wrong they are.

My other common nick beget is just shortened from Begemot, a character in Michail Bulgakov's book Master and Margarita.

When I first started wading into the internet I went by Mont, which was an uninventive derivation of my actual name that I've always enjoyed for some reason. I never even considered Khedive Rex until I started playing an online-ish game called Perplex City.

The game required you to buy cards with puzzles and riddles on them in real life so that you could log onto your profile and solve them to advance the plot. Me and my brother both wanted to play but didn't want to have to buy two of every card so we decided we'd share an account.

He always used DocGnosis a name I wasn't all that hot for and it goes without saying he didn't want to go by my name on the internet. So, we sat down and came up with a mutually agreeable moniker on the spot.

Khedive is a middle name that both he and I share (and in my case at least, my favorite middle name) so we agreed on that and I suggested adding Rex to the end because the rex would designate royalty but Khedive mean governor and I liked the oxymoronic qualities. Plus, joining basically a puzzle game as we were, I liked that none of this was obvious unless you spoke both Latin and Arabic. It seemed to fit nicely with the theme of being overly confusing cause you can.

After the game ended he returned to DocGnosis but Khedive Rex had really grown on me and has since become my standard name.

EDIT Oh, and it occurs to me this is my chance to put a pronunciation code. (ku-dEEv reks)

My real name is Tom. In Drenths (a local Dutch dialect), tomme means 'dammit' and I thought that was funny. Unfortunately, in Frisian (Netherlands second official language) tomme means 'small thumb', which isn't even half as cool. Spelling it with the number 0 instead of the letter o was the right thing to do back then and I kinda stuck with it.

SenseOfTumour : Reminds me of a friend who named his dwarf "Gaudaklou" (would make "Spaikedildeau" in English) to test the language filter in the open beta of WoW

'Noamuth' is one I use on most forums. It was the name of a role playing character I created in my head back in the day.

Another one I use is 'Snuhppy'.. My friend and I were hyped up on sugar and thought it was a hilarious word, so I used it when signing up for an account on a forum.

Lord Krunk post=18.70269.686788 said:
I concieved the word 'Krunk' at a school trivia night, where we needed a team name. We just came up with a string of random, gibberish, and then, a single syllable hit me. "How about, 'The Kings Of Krunk?" I said.

SNIP

After that, I looked it up in Wikitionary, and found out that it was internet slang for 'Drunk.' It pissed me off a little, because it made an awesome pseudonym sound low-life.
I believe krunk is also a form of hip hop.
