I was looking for a new avatar, so I decided to search "muffins" [footnote]I really like muffins.[/footnote] into Google Images.

Took some doing to track down it's original in the internet as I never kept a copy.

Yep, cameras are a handy, simply source of avatars. With a tiny bit of creativity, you can find the most awesome things to take a pic of and then use it... Not just limited to "Oh hello here I am destroying my anonymity" if you'd rather preserve it.

I made mine, using the lasso tool in the gimp. I found all these icons for valve games, and then I cut them out of the original picture, put them in the center on a new one, and then, I used a program called UnFreeze to make them all an animated GIF. This is probably how most animated avatars get made to start with
