Where did you think babies came from before you were given "The Talk"?

I thought that when a mommy and a daddy got married the dad's DNA would float unseeingly through the air and get the mommy pregnant (I saw multiple problems with this, but I really didn't have a better explanation at the time). 9 months later the baby would come out of the bely button.

I didn't really get "The Talk". I got Sex Ed in Primary school.
Before that though I really did not think about it. I think even at that age I had a disdain for younger children and did not spend my time thinking about it. Also I am the youngest sibling in my family so I never had to think about it.
I remember learning about sex. Nothing was really surprising. I just understood it as it was taught to me.

I thought we were crapped out. I mean the baby was in the mummy's tummy, how else could they get it out?

I thought it was just a product of marriage. Didn't really find out from the talk though. My parents were a little late on that one.

I recall being very young, like 4 or 5 or so, and actually asking my dad "How do mommies get pregnant?" when it occurred to me for the first time, having seen my mom be pregnant with my sister.
His answer was "They just do."
I elaborated and asked, "So they can just get pregnant any time even if they don't want to?"
He said, "..........yeah." and walked away.
His cowardice had me believing that was what happened until I was in grade 5 and we did sex ed class.

I never really thought about it, its something that never really bothered me.
Besides I am the youngest in my family so I never had to ask that question

My Mom always said that I was "God's gift" to her, so I had a whole scene in my head where God's hand comes into the living room and gives her a big Christmas present with me inside.

My mother told me outright I came from her Belly.

She showed me a picture of a c-section.

I didn't think about it until I was taught by Television.

Never got the so-called "talk" because I've known how it worked since I was 6.

So...Yeah...Why do we wait to tell children about sex for such a long time here in America again? I've turned out relatively the same I would have if I hadn't known, and I'm likely better off having been informed of it earlier than is the norm.

Before i found out about sex i thought women got pregnant by kissing. A friend if mine told me he thought women got pregnant for eating too much.

Hearsay and rumors. Then my friend who was a little older than myself fully educated me when I was about nine and neither of us could sleep so we spent the whole night talking.

Actually, the first bit of information I got was about sex. My mum had this little flip book called something like "mummy laid an egg" which had a brother and sister's mother get pregnant, and they then make a book about various positions for chubby stickmen to do it. This involved on skateboards, being help up by helium balloons, dressed up like clowns in a circus, and various other ways.

I think i always kind of knew... i seems that in my younger years i just kind of pieced together where babys came from. I remember knowing about sex and prgnancy when i was like 5 - I didn't walk in on anyone. like I said; I figured it out from various sources - however I did not know about sex, what with conception, the... graphic stuff and chromosones until later.

That whole "when a man and a woman love each other very much" talk convinced me that when a woman fell in love, her body just kind of reacted in a certain way that made her pregnant. I assumed this was also the cause of single mothers.

I honestly never thought about it. Come to think about it, I don't remember being given The Talk, either. I just kinda worked it out (which sounds wrong in so many ways, but is really quite innocent).
