OT: I'd always assumed it was natural outgrowth, but it's really fascinating to see how people are digging into the origins of this. It's like an archaeological dig, but for stuff that's actually fun to study (Oooooh, burn, no jk I love archaeology).

I can tell a Shadman piece by how deep in the uncanny valley the drawings are from first glance. The only thing Shadman has over other Rule 34 artists is a much more consistent time schedule and a reliable site.
I've only seen one fanart of that and it was on Newgrounds, and considering the artist in question I wasn't at all surprised. I was unaware this was a whole phenomenon.

Well, that's something I could have gone on not knowing about. I decided to google image this thing and I regret it. Just... I don't understand. Why? I just don't get it. Goddamn Rule 63 or whatever the hell Rule it is. I guess it comes from someone saying "Why the hell not?" I just... nope, I'm out.
I've never heard of this one before. I did, however, see some fanart of Peach in a Zero Suit and Samus looking kinda peeved in a dark blue version of Peach's gown :3
As I understand it, here's what happened: During the whole "Samus has weird techno NERF stripper boots" thing that was going down, people started attributing all kinds of 'sexy' things to other Smash characters to point out the clear hypocrisy in what's acceptable from one character to another. One picture had everybody in her boots, and then as a mutation of that, somebody started throwing the Zero Suit, boobs and all, on other characters. This quickly caught fire as furries don't get gendered quite as hard in the facial region and it turned from a joke into a legitimate fetish fuel... thing. I've also seen a Falco version, and even more hilariously, a Peppy version.
