I have tried recently to be better informed. So, I thought the best way was to watch CNN, who pride themselves as being non-partial. However, I got one minute of news and about 20 minutes of opinion about one news story.

The internet is full of bias reporting. Even newspapers have lost credibility with lacking funds and getting bought by billionaires. Journalism is in a sad state.

So, where do you get your news? What do you look for from a news outlet?

I get mine half from watching the BBC or ITV, or I tend to get it from Reddit. Reddit is an annoyingly fast way to get world news, usually is faster than getting it from the TV.

As for what I look for from a news outlet... just facts really. What's happened. How it happened. How is it going to affect things. Yes, there is a lot of opinion and waffle to read through, but once you read through enough you find what you need.

Google. I hear about things, on the radio or on the internet or from friends, and then I Google the everloving shit out of it until I know everything there is to know.

Otherwise, I actually like using Wikipedia for information on current news, because they have to provide citations for the shit they say, and I can go check the citations and make up my own mind. I don't have to worry "Is this news website secretly funded by Putin?"

Between the mainstream options of CNN, MSNBC, and Fox, I go with CNN. I mean Fox News is Fox News and MSNBC is Fox News. CNN is at least trying to pretend to be impartial. They often fail, but the effort is appreciated.

I don't read any of the various specialized news sites. It's way too much effort to filter out the garbage.

The Daily Show, Samantha Bee and John Oliver.

The rest of the time I'll check the USAToday, CNN and Fox sites...so I can get all three sides of the truth and draw my own conclusions.

Usually word of mouth and here. Sometimes I might glimpse something on my phone's homepage (automatically was set to my provider's homepage) and read that, but it's generally what I hear which then I go to search if I care enough.

The BBC as a rule. Anything I see elsewhere I'll google to get multiple sources.

Main sources are BBC (even got their app) and i'm a regular reader of the Independent (is there a more left wing paper in the uk?).

But i tend to get linked a lot of stuff by my friends, usually sources id never check otherwise, it's how i get linked the occasional breitbart article, which makes for an interesting contrast with my primary sources of info xP

The Economist for me. With the division of US politics, I prefer to get my news from a third party like the UK, and they do a pretty good job in general. The only problem is that it's an international magazine, so I miss out on a lot of local news.

I do it the oldschool way. I go to my local library and read weekly magazines(you know, these paper things). One is rather pro-goverment. The other is vehemently anti. Other than that i of course browse the net, which can be a pain in the arse cause i hate sensationalism.

I mainly get my main news from Sky News in the morning and other minor snippets like gaming on here or elsewhere like Facebook sometime.

I make my own news
And we all love you for it.

I generally get my news either from here, the people around me like my mom and coworkers, and occasionally from YouTube the radio. That's pretty much it so if I don't here about it from one of those I'm likely to never hear about it.

BBC, but, with a pretty big grain of salt these days.

Beyond that, I suppose I just sorta mix sources and see what I make of it all.

I read my news from Yahoo (though I avoid 'Al Jazeera' out of Principle). I also get news from certain Forums and I also hear news from Conservative (Although, they're really just Republican Lapdog) Radio Hosts.

I get mine from the ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) and SBS. The ABC is as close to unbiased as you can in a news organisation here (it's publicly funded, and despite what some extreme right-wing commentators say about it, it reports news and keeps opinion completely out of it) and is especially good for local news.

The SBS pretty much the same but for international news (and a lot of programs that advert-based tv channels won't air).
