Where do you disagree with Yahtzee?

A disagree with all reviewers. Every last one of them is given a limited time to play the game and then write a review. It is impossible for them to write a complete comprehensive review of a product when your time limit is so short. If reviewers had more time and possibly to allow a leisurely pace through the product then they can write a good review.

Try it yourself. Go to a video game store. Find a game that you haven't played. Buy it. Give yourself a day or two to play AND write the review of the game.

Personally i find not so much that i agree with Yahtzee that much on his positive opinions on games, but i appreciate his negative opinions because it prepares me for all the crap and dissapointing aspects of a game; I'm fairly cynical with most of the games i play Come to think of it, most of the games he praises i disagree with.

Same here. I kind of enjoy when he tears apart a game I like (Valkyria Chronicles; though anyone could've told him he wouldn't like that) but I don't like it so much when he raves about a game that I hate (No More Heroes: I thought he hated QTEs and tedium).

Awful idea for a thread. That's all I'm saying.
Yahtzee's just this guy who does reviews. What he says isn't gospel.
You'd be surprised, man. His acolytes on this site, while pathetic, are steadfast in their belief he's amazing. Just like the dickheads that think Unskippable is HILARIOUS. Don't get me started on that series...

Anyway, Yahtzee's reviews used to be funny. Anymore, they aren't so much. He has a moment here and there, but I'm pretty close to just giving up on them. On top of that, he keeps doing games no one gives a crap about.

His better work is in his first 20 reviews or so.

This post is so ironic. I giggled.
Please, point out the irony for me. So far, I don't see it.

Well, you start off by saying that people think what Yahtzee says is gospel, and your entire post presents your own opinions as absolute gospel.

Thus, I giggled at the irony.

well... i actually agree with every "bad" thing he points out in a game, but his personal opinion is something i dont care about, he hates everything?? cool, do i have to agree with his opinion, no, definetly no, i like the "smug" feeling when he mentions something bad about the game that i personaly hated, and i feel stupid for liking things he seemed to hate, but in the end, the credits roll up, he shuts up and i feel the same about my self, i think the problem with a lot of people is that they take him to seriously, and sorry my friend, but asking if "everyone else" feels some way or the other about his reviews is kind of asking for a flame war :p

but i like your opinion non the less, and the sentiment it carries!

Most of his points are exaggerated criticisms for comic effect, so while I agree that, for example, Sonic and Snake should be starting characters in SSBB it isn't that big of a deal, and doesn't make the game any less fun. So, while I agree to an extent with most things he says, I don't place the importance upon them that he does.

The points of his reviews however he declares them, are subjective it seems. Which renders them uselessly biased, and therefore for me he's just a comedian wearing a paper-thin mask of a reviewer who enjoys waving his fans around like a flag and not caring where such an action may taint the video game industry. (It's stereotypically sad really, it's just like most gamers; we don't ever actually recognize the power we have as a very uniform consumer base.)

I personally found his The World Ends With You review to be the only one that I took any issue with. I wasn't offended, obviously, because it's just his opinion about the game, but I believe that TWEWY is the only JRPG that I've ever enjoyed to any extent whatsoever.

The best thing about Yahtzee is his honesty. He's never afraid to tell you what he truly thinks. But, with anyone who deals in opinions like him, of course I'll disagree on some fronts.

1.) I liked Metal Gear Solid 4. It really blurred the lines between categories of media. I just loved it!

2.) The majority of the games I play tend to be J-RPGs, though I agree with some of his nitpicks of them. At least he likes Earthbound. o:

I beginning to disagree on what he calls a review now - he seems to be going over things less and just taking the piss out of every game. Plus he "reviewed" Duke Nukem which wasn't out yet, but whatever he gets paid for it anyways.

There are many points during his reviews where he'll say something about a game I've played that I will agree with wholeheartedly though.

EDIT: I never said I didn't like the Duke Nuken review - it was entertaining just not a review as such
Yeah, that was the point. He even says during the "review" about people not doing their job and getting fired and in the animation it shows him being canned. Also, you should read the three extra pieces of writing that he does during the credits.

I really love ZP. I often got the feeling that he's wrong, but whenever I thing about it, I change my mind. It's like, I'm trying to disagree with him, but I can't, becouse he is right. All the time.

I agree with mostly every negative point he gives to games I've played, but he nitpicks too much.

Oh and I like JRPGs.
