I said this in another thread, to me Yahtzee is Entertaining, but i take everything he says with a grain of salt, he seems to hate 99% of games and I like a lot of the games he says are garbage. He is a shock reviewer, a hate fueled one, but he does it for entertainment purposes so it works well. I watch every week but I don't really feel like Im watching a review as much as just comedy based on the imperfections of an entertainment medium.
Exactly, I watch his reviews every week, find them amusing, and then completely ignore everything he has to say when it comes to picking a game to buy.
Nobody seems to notice that he bitches about Halo's "bright" style then Killzone and GOW's "dull" style, he isn't doing it to be poignant, he is doing it to find things to rip on to make you laugh.
What's sad is when people quote him on these things.
What annoys me most about the whole Halo thing is that Yahztee admitted in his review that he never played Halo 1 and 2, and nobody sees the significance.
Halo:CE is now a fairly old game by most peoples standards, it was one of the first from the
last gen. It was actually quite innovative whether people like to admit it or not, it was one of the first FPS's to:
- Include
usable vehicles.
- Rechargeable health. (Some people seem to forget/are too ignorant to realise that in Halo:CE it was actually just the shield, you still had a health meter)
- Two Weapons only system.
- Grenades that stick to your opponents.
- Allow you to customise your character in MP.
Yahtzee, as mentioned before only played Halo 3 by which time all of the following is considered standard, most of the idiots who quote him every time they mention Halo seem to forget that he was only referring to the third in the series and has said nothing about Halo as a series altogether.
