Hannah Montana is where I draw the line as to what is music and what is entertainment shoved down the eager gullets of preteens. And I stand firmly on the side against her and throw foul smelling......dwarves? at her until she'll go away.
Same freaking here! While as a music elitist bastard I'm not allowed to call her out and say that's not music or art, I will say that the presentation is PATHETIC.

I think Philip Zimbardo is a step up from Sigmund Freud.
True. Plus, Freud already changed the public opinion of sex without the use of a night vision filter. The last thing we need to see is him fucking Master Chief on youtube.

You know, some of us can't help the acne or the glasses. Genetics?

DnD is easily more respectable than the WoW lifesuck. Trust me...it's not deserving of the stigma it receives. It's very fun.
I know. Plus you actually need friends to play it. People who play WoW end up living, sad, lonely lives worthy of a Lifetime Original Movie.

I'm so sorry sir. I didn't mean to offend...I was just poking at the ridiculous nature of that stereotype. Forgive me.

WoW is disgusting...it ruined two whole years of my life. And I paid for that.

In more than just money.

Actually, the presentation of all pop is quite pretty, that's why it's so easily swallowed. As a musical elitist bastard, it is your DUTY as much as it is mine, to call out all forms of bad music and to be told that we're being.... musical elitist bastards.

Give me Mingus any day, almost being stabbed by Jackie McLean and all.
The fact that pop is swallowed so easily is the irritating part, but what ever brings in the green backs right?
I know it's out duty to call out bad music but we cant really say what is or isn't art. If we do that then we come off as hypocritical jerks. My method of music selection goes like this: Hear the song, let it swirl around, and form my opinion.

I'm not exactly sure what you're talking about, but because of your avatar, I'm persuaded to agree.

I actually want to get into pen and paper roleplaying. Maybe not Dungeons and Dragons (Tolkienesque swords and sorcery is a little over done). I do have a copy of the new World of Darkness source book (and a companion sourcebook, Mage: The Awakening) gathering e-dust on my desktop. I've got to read the rules and start a game with my friends soon.

Only then will I be a true nerd.
I kinda know what you mean. At first, I drew the line at Final Fantasy games, then World of Warcraft. Now that I've started playing D&D with some friends, I've drawn the line at cosplay. Who knows, maybe one day I'll be roaring drunk, put on a school girls outfit and actually enjoy walking around in public in it. The lines we draw aren't set in stone.

Drawing the line at anything ABOVE pen and paper role playing sounds pretty comfortable to me. just don't get into parody porn (...I mean...if you really look like your avatar...)
Sounds like your lines are drawn in water soluble chalk. :D

Much of the Adult Swim line up has me drawing lines. It's entertainment for many, I am sure. I am just not among the "many," or maybe my nose is pointed skyward. I dunno. I've given it a chance at times, and been entertained. But when detective-butts start capping people, for claymation bible children praise jesus, my brow locks in an upward position, and my finger reaches for the off button.

Self indulging gangstah rap is also another. R&B done right, even fringe OG-rap is ok. But when it's a song about bling and how many hoes a brothah has on his boat, I just draw the line.

Cell shaded Link (ala, Legend of Zelda). I am not a brain washed nintendo fan, and do not eat up anything Link or Zelda related on principle... I save that for Final Fantasy 7. I eat that up like candy. :)

This is simple enough for me. I don't really understand what you guys mean anyway, and I don't think I've actually seen any parody porn.

I draw the line to being human when you score at or near 100% on all the tests you've ever taken, but when you talk to the guy it's like an empty shell in there. I would give tabletop adventure games a go, but I never really got much into it and I don't know anybody who does it.

The Adult Swim stuff can be really funny or really stupid. The really good stuff straddles that line like an electric bull in the snout to establish superiority. I love the venture bros, it keeps getting better season after season. Oscar Wilde, Aleister Crowley, Fantômas, and Colonel Venture being pursued by Tesla... I have no problem accepting that into the show's universe.

Also, don't knock Robot Chicken. Their Calvin and Hobbes sketch was spot on. That gives them a license to be stupid.

I draw my lines before WoW and before anything to do with Nintendo. This is why I'm pissed that Dead Space Extraction is only on the Wii.

Because the game's tainted by being on a Nintendo platform? Just because you didn't buy a Wii doesn't mean it can't get good games.

I bought it just for the latest Smash Bros. Everything else is bonus.
