Honestly, I'll just go to Gamespot, but I'll really only read the "Good vs. Bad" blurb at the top. I don't care too much about the score, but I like seeing Pros and Cons. I wish more reviews used them.

I go to the AV Club for reviews, but I generally only buy games if I have been excited for them since I knew they were coming out (Arkham series, Modern Warfare, Civilization, Starcraft). A bad review might cause me to rethink my decision though.

Rock Paper Shotgun are just about the only site that would sell me on a game. If a game is getting good reviews all round, i'll consider it, but RPS is the only place I'd take a direct recommendation from.

Gamespot for a baseline, Escapist to get a video review and Metacritic if I want more info.

I generally know what games I want or am interested in, so I basically just want to hear if it's a disaster or not. Gamespot tends to cover that aspect adequately and they review almost every major and not-so-major release.

If I happen to be on the fence about something I go to Metacritic and use it to get to other reviews. Also, if I'm looking for reviews of obscure games, Metacritic is again helpful in directing me to someone who reviewed it...

in all honesty, I tend to look at IGN and zero punctuation, good at picking out the best and worst of a game respectively and if I could live with the middle ground I go for it

zero punctuation... I really don't pay attention to reviews. I buy games that really interest me which is rare anymore.

I would normally just go to youtube and watch gamers play through the first few levels of a game and judge for myself if I am interested in this game. I may go to other sites and read their reviews, but only to verify if there are any issue along or towards the end of the game (bad ending, strange controls, horrible mechanics, etc.).

With the exception of 2-3 games, I've been overall satisfied with all my game purchases.

Nowhere. Most of the time what I see is blatant propaganda for a game. Hence, I watch Yahtzee's reviews for laughs, the escapist official reviews to find out about some games I'd never hear about otherwise, and Google gameplay videos, plot rundowns and known bugs of games instead of watching reviews.

I used to trust The Escapist for reviews. But after their review of Portal 2 (they basically said 'meh' to what is a stellar game), and then their glowing positive review of Dragon Age 2 (obvious cash-grab, buggy as shit, pathetic mish-mash storyline of a game) all in the same month, they have lost my trust.
So because the site gave one game you love a slightly less than perfect review and gave another game you hate a great review you don't trust them anymore?I don't think you understand how reviews work to be honest

Oh by the way 4 stars is hardly a 'meh' review
