Most of the time I go to a local game store that has anything from atari to the 360 mostly because he gives me more for my trade in, I know the owner and he will help you out any way he can, also gamestop has screwed me over too many times (only go there for special pre-orders), and I like to help out local businesses.

At the toilet store.
(Cookie for anyone who gets the reference.)
But seriously, just at my local EB Games, or JB Hi-fi.

If its a new game, then Walmart. My Walmart is almost 100% always guaranteed to have a copy of it. If its a old used game, I'll check out prices on eBay then go compare to my local EB Games. Depending on who is cheaper/has it, I'll buy from them. I don't like trading in my old games because I know as soon as I do, I'll wanna replay it, and won't be able to find it. And I use Steam for buying PC games, even if it does like to screw up my computer and cause harsh lag.

"Steam is a digital distribution, digital rights management, multiplayer and communications platform developed by Valve Corporation. It is used to distribute games and related media online, from small independent developers to larger software houses. Steam also has community features, automated game updates, and in-game voice and chat functionality."

Mostly Game stop since all the Game Crazies closed down around my area, though I'll hit up Amazon if it's something harder to find.

Play.com always has good deals, its where 90% of my games are from, I always compare it to Amazon though just to be sure.

Amazon, Steam and on rare occasions: EBay, Direct2Drive and Impulse, and random others.

In that order.

I usually look around for where a game I want is the cheapest, which is usually one of the webshops I have bookmarked.

That, and very occasionally Steam (for older games or indy titles) or the gameshop I recently discovered in a nearby town.

I have four stores in my mall that sell video games.

EB Games.
HMV.
The Source.
The sony store.

When a new game comes out i make my rounds for the cheapest game, then compare the benefit of trade ins at EB.

Normally i get games 5-10 bucks cheaper as ONE of the stores is always having some sort of sale.
