This topic is about iconic foods of your childhood that you loved, but suddenly and cruelly disappeared from supermarket shelves, never to be seen again...

Mine would be Daisy Pudding, a wonderful, custardy dairy-food type thing that tasted of vanilla and dreams...

This also covers iconic foods of your childhood that you:

a) just don't eat any more;
b) still consume like they were going out of fashion;
c) miss because you've moved away from the country you were born in/they were produced in...

And also things like fast food outlets (*sniff* I miss you Georgie Pie!)

Cheddar Munchem's: like a lonely old widow I stand at the snack isle of my local Safeway, wish for their safe return the seas of discontinuance... but alas they shall not come back, I must have to satisfy myself with the horny suitor that is Cheetos.

Pop Tarts.

No idea where they went, but I loved the toasted bastards. Sure, they fucked up my body because of their rather large sugar contents, but they tasted like heaven.

I remember drinking Boku. It was a really tasty juice beverage that came in a carton with a foil pull tab that I thought was really cool. It was the most delicious beverage I've ever tasted, but I haven't seen it in like 13 years.

This sort of sounds like me in the chiller aisle of my supermarket...except there is less cheese involved and more Swiss Maid custard... =) But it's just not the same!!!

Years and years ago, my local grocer carried Koala Yummies for a brief period. Now the only place I can get them is an ethnic(namely Asian) food store.

Also love Kasugai Gummies, but I have the same dilemma there. Not to mention it's close to $5 U.S. for a small bag.

All the Pizza Huts I've been to have offered stuffed crust. And it is the best tasting pizza in existence.

Don't they have Pop Tarts in the UK? They're all over the place here in the US. Or are they a different thing in the UK?

Anyone remember Crystal Pepsi? Or Amazin' Fruit Gummi Bears? Heh.

A couple of my friends were waxing nostalgic about the disappearance of Big League Chew locally (it's a chewing gum.) They near had a heart attack when they found it in a dollar store.

They no longer have Pop-Tarts where you live?

Poor sir, you have my deepest condolences.

This delicious candy know as Buncha-Crunch, now I can no longer find it.....
This reminds me of a discussion I was having the other day with some friends - we were speculating on how old we were before Pinky Bars became impossible to eat - I remember when I was little, I could eat a whole one - now I take one bite and the sickliness is too great... Man, I miss being able to eat frightening quantites of sweets with no ill effects...
