Northern Ireland.

But, really, I'd say Victorian England. That's a game I'd like to play. Mainly so I have an excuse to say "spiffing" and "jolly good".

If it will be set in the future I will have no respect left for it.

Assassins like Ezio and Altair are not efficient when it comes to bullets.

I'm hoping for Desmond to die, and then some strange plot twist tells you that his psyche has gone back in time to feudal Japan, and you get to assassinate people there. It would be just as plausible as the end to AC2, and we wouldn't have to deal with that annoying Desmond.

The future. As in Desmond's time. Which I am pretty sure is exactly what its going to be.

I'd say the during the Industrial Revolution in England then migrate to America or something. Because those two places where huge places during the Industrial Revolution.

Judging by the contents of this article: http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=175552

I'd say Japan, though I haven't played Assassin's Creed 2 yet, so if there's anything the discredits that then don't tell me what it is.

Jerk your wapanese fantasies elsewhere, it's blatantly not going that way.

Victorian England gets my vote. Or France during the french revolution (Scarlet Pimpernel, anyone?). There will be one set in the 'present' eventually but I don't think it's quite time yet, he still needs to do something in a gun-toting era...

1900s
I dunno why, seems like that time period is a little brushed over in games. and that way in aC4 the tech will be so good if they do a WWII time peroid they really can do it right

My bathroom, every who walks in to crap never suspects: that the bathrobe is actually an assasin with three blades hidden, two at his hands and one underneath some toilet paper!

In my dreams it would be 1960's Liverpool.

More practically, it'd probably a period where firarms are a big deal, especially if there's more focus on modern-day Desmond's exploits. Then again, Aspergo (or whatever they're called) just use pointy sticks in AC2, so there might be no guns at all.
