This thread is so entertaining. XD

OP, it sounds like all your problems would evaporate if you moved, maybe do that?
Lots of people move for love, WoW is a great place to meet girls near to where you live. Try hanging around stores gamers frequent, or just try the regular methods of meeting girls and ask then if they play games. Book stores are also great places.

Don't give up OP! Your love is out there!

online dating?
I've never used it myself cos frankly I'm 18 and all boys around my age are retarded testosterone filled punks with one thing on their mind (yeah yeah, I stereotype - sorry, once-bitten twice-shy all that jazz), but maybe it could suit your needs?
Yet, I just saw a marvellous post above that sends that idea down the toilet.
Just be a gamer, if you want to meet a gamer girl. She will see your arkham asylum t-shirt and starcraft bling and know 'hey, it's a gamer! like me! we must have things in common...'
Wait you think it's just guys around your age? Hooboy are you in for an unpleseant surprise .

OT: walk around with a cute videogame character shirt , a girl will surely comment on it at some point . Like a shirt with a moogle on it . Women love moogles.

I really hate living in the most isolated city in the world. AKA Perth in Western Australia, the only convention we get is Supanova (only 5% gaming the other is weirdness, anime and such), The only way to go to a gaming one is to travel to Sydney (Hard for me to get to). And I have not seen a gamer girl apart from my Best friend's sister.

So I don't know what to do over here it pisses me off quite a bit.
We had swan con last weekend. :/

If I'd seen your post prior I'd have sent you an im with info.

Every Easter Swancon is held. So you know for next year I suppose.

Also, hang out at Empire Toys, it's awesome.

Oh, there's a chance that you could get a gamer girl, but thing is, true gamer girls are still pretty rare. Unless she's a real circus pig (like, the female equivalent of me ugly) she's gonna be getting a lot of attention, so if you find such a girl, best find some way to really sweep her off her feet, because she'll be gone before you know it.
.
Im not sure thats true...the attention thing
It really is. You just need to be more open about it to gamer dudes.

...I go to Eb Games enough every weekend that every staff member knows me and my friend, I even made a joke that the store is a hooker and he is the disease in her, he didn't kick me out which was awesome, we joke around there a lot. So if there was a girl that I was interested in I'm sure I would be already be stalking her (I'm joking about that). It's the Claremont store that is new and I have been a loyal customer from when it opened (Unless a cheap bargain comes across at Jb Hi Fi in the same place).

Also that isn't the only thing I look in a girl, it would just be nice to have a girlfriend that has the same interests as me.

One of these days I will find someone. ;D
You live ridiculously close to me. Unless you travel past other stores to get to Claremont. I'm not sure how I feel about this revelation.

Thing is, it's really not. Speaking as a gamer who happens to be a girl, if you go around announcing your gender online you are an attention whore. If you tell gamer dudes IRL, a lot of them will look at you like you are a dog that learned to talk. Like `Cool, I didnt know you COULD do that`. There's a running joke I have with one of my boyfriend's mates, he always says I'm a figment of his and my boyfriend's imagination. :p

I haven't recieved masses of attention or people really thinking it was a huge deal (unless is was a kitchen joke which is apparently mandatory). Unless you mean when you get like 10 friend requests online when you talk over Xbox Live, and really who wants that.

Maybe it's because I'm from a small town.

Of all the girls within 2 years of my age growing up, 3 of them were gamers.

They were never short on attention from boys.

The only way I feel about this is represented by my avatar. Yeah I'm gasping.
I didn't know we had more then one convention here in Perth, I shall attend next year and see if I can find Empire Toys.

Yeah I live pretty close to Claremont, I can easily just ride my bike to Claremont. I usually go there whenever the chance and plus my best friend lives along Stirling Highway. (Near Cottesloe, an annoyance to get to by biking)

If you're in high school or college that is a good place to meet gamer girls, I was surprised how many where in my school. Try the library or Barnes and Noble, I've known a few who go there often! And last but not least, a game store.

You'll have to zoom in a little, Empire toys is really easy to get to though. Red CAT in the city, "His Magesty's" stop. Link is Google maps.

I missed swan con by accident, my girlfriend and I were going to go but we just forgot.

Ask at Empire toys about the Nexus fair. Cheap nerd stuff like comics and gaming statues.

How are you folks finding these masses of women who don't like video games, anyway?

I'm a weeaboo, so naturally all my friends I've come across have be kinda weeaboo, too. And they all, all play video games. And come on, I live in this tiny, itty bitty town. And all my female friends play video games.

Because women playing video games is pretty darn common.

It is actually pretty quick to get to, I mean I went today after TAFE, all I had to do is go to the train station and then follow Hay street until I got there. (I found a Google maps photo of it earlier)

And when I saw it I was fairly impressed, well since I like anime and stuff I found it like a paradise. :D

Surely a middle ground exists between "enjoys attention" and "attention whore". Most people enjoy a little attention in social games. While getting attention for your gender isn't exactly the same as getting attention for merit, having your existence noted and celebrated is probably a pleasant experience, so I'm not surprised people might want to partake of it.

I'm a guy, and I've occasionally noted that I'm a guy in conversations online. No one gives a shit, and they likely assumed I was a guy anyway, but women should enjoy the same freedom without being branded as 'attention whores'. Maybe if MORE women announce their gender in casual conversation while gaming online instead of lurking in the shadows fearing castigation, guys like the OP will stop treating them like mythological beings.

Yeah, I may have been unclear. I dont mean they are attention whores, I mean thats what everybody automatically assumes.
I do occasionally mention my gender in games, but the reaction I get is more often than not negative. My attitude towards it has been just keep at it and it will cease to be a big deal, but it's difficult sometimes. Guys can casually refer to their gender, because it isn't a big deal. I'm not sure why people react badly when I do it, though, its not like I'm rubbing it in anyones face or saying I am special.

Women hiding their gender in an online community is common, but not their fault. Since some of us guys can't handle it and start doing weird things they would otherwise not have done. Like PM-ing them too often, etc.

On behalf of my... yeah I can't finish that sentence. What about this: both genders are weird to eachother, let's ignore all the weirdness and talk about games, and ponies, and cool stuff like ... well we are not here to discuss cool stuff.
