As most of you know, on September 11, 2001, Al-Queda allegedly hijacked 4 airliners and crashed them into the World Trade Centers, the Pentagon, and a field. So my question is, where were you when you received news of the event that launched the War on Terror?

I was in first grade at the time, and when the school was informed they called the parents saying that they wanted them to take their students home.

I just came back from school, and my family were all locked onto the televison. It didn't seem real at the time, I was so disconnected.

I was in second hour band in 7th grade. Had no idea what was going on, or even what the trade towers were.

I was in lower school at the time, and they didn't tell us anything. My dad told me but I still understand that much, I even remember complaining about how most of the TV channels were showing video of the buildings going down.

I was in a Catholic school in second grade I think.

People were running everywhere and parents were trying to pick up their kids. It ended up with me and my sister holding hands wait for my dad to pick us up.

I never really understood the event until a couple years later.

My friends uncle, he worked in the towers. He actually went to work late that day, to find his work place exploded. I'd like to believe some one was looking after him.

As for me? Getting ready for school, if not already there.

I was in school aged seven sitting next to a nervous, unhappy girl who'd just moved to england from america two weeks prior to the attack.

My Dad told me.
Wow, how the hell is that possible?! Almost every big TV network broadcasted about it pretty much 24/7. Not to mention the internet and almost any other news source.

Anyway, I was at home, just watching TV. I thought it was fake at first, saw that it wasn't, watched for a few mins, shrugged and went back to whatever I was doing.

I was on the toilet. My dad started yelling to me, saying I have to come into the living room and look at the TV. Came out just in time to see the second plane hit.

i was in high school. i heard that a plane crashed into the world trade center. i envisioned the following scenario:

a man is sipping coffee while staring out a window at the WTC. he watches as a small cessna flies straight toward him. unperturbed, he finishes his coffee as the cessna hits the side of the building, crumples like a tin can, and falls to the street below. the window is barely scratched. "wait 'til i tell the boys about this!" he thinks to himself as he heads back to his desk, empty mug in hand.

it wasn't until i got home that day that i discovered the true extent of the tragedy. later i went to the dentist.

Just arriving at school in first grade. I saw a TV on in the gym with a couple of towers on it and later learned just what happened. I'm probably one of the least affected among my friends.

I only found out about it on the 12th.

What? I was 8 years old and never payed attention to the News on TV. It was only after one of the more mature kids started talking about it that I found out.
