This sentence makes me sad.

I was sick and lying in my bed when I turned to the LOTR books to stave off boredom. Sadly, I was disappointed. There were a few interesting segments, but in summary I found those books extraordinarily mediocre.

I first read the books when I was in 7th grade. I brought the books in and just read them a bit daily whenever I had free time. I saw all the movies next year when my parents rented them.
