9/11 - I was at my cousin's house at 7 am because we carpooled. His mum came in and said "Let me see the news. Some planes hit the World Trade Centre buildings last night."[footnote]We live in Australia, so night = NYC day.[/footnote]

London bombings - I remember something about the TV, but nothing else.

Bin Laden - I think I heard about it on the news and though "huh, interesting".

Everything else, I have no idea where I was or I wasn't alive at the time.

9/11- I was in my dad car as he drive me to my dentist appointment and he had the radio on. It was only after the dentist that I went home and saw the video.

7/7- I can't remember (I think I was having breakfast or in my room, surfing the net).

Death of Bin Laden- I was having breakfast and watching the news.

I was living in Hawaii when 9/11 happened, so for me it happened while I was still asleep. I just remember waking up, coming downstairs to see my mom watching the news and telling me I wouldn't be going to school that day.

I was in the 7th or 8th grade at the time. I didn't really know what was going on for another couple hours.

I do not recall where I was at either dates.

And comparing bin laden to hitler is quite odd imo.
I think he just means in terms of public perception, he was very much "that guy".
Well perhaps in America that is true..
At least for me it has always been Al-Qaida that is "evil", perhaps its "just me" that havent really been focusing on the leader

The Less Obvious One - London Bombings (7/7)

The Recent One - Death of Bin Laden - About bloody time am I right?
That was so overdue, i couldn't give a shit

Huge moments in your life

I remember sitting in my grandparet's house at Christmas when they announced the tsunami in Phuket, Thailand.
You too? lol
Oh, the Tsunami. I remember the day before that, decking this fairly overweight kid who some other kids convinced (for their own amusement) to pick a fight with me. Needless to say, the appropriate joke was made...

Edit: I know it's immature of me, but "Phuket"! Fantastic.
I remember where I was when I found out about the tsunami and it was at school since one of my class mate lost his entire family that day.

I really don't like these kinds of things, they aren't as significant as we think they are.
i mean people were still talking about 9/11 (which only 2000 people died),
yet people have forgotten about the Japanese tsunami already.

And Bin Ladin's dead was in no way like Hitlers. The worst thing about his death was that people celebrated it, not like with Hitler where people celebrated the end of a war, but literally rejoicing at the death of a man(when it bares no consequence.
9/11 - at home didn't hear about it 'til the next day in school.
london bombing (secondary) some teacher told us.
Bin ladins death - ?
I think you should add things that aren't terrorism related,
i would add some natural disasters but usually they take a while to happen.

9/11 - I got in the car after school, my mom told me something terrible has happened. But I didn't think much of it till I went home and watched the news.

London bombings - Not sure to be honest, I'm Canadian. I guess it didn't have as much of an impact here.

Bin Laden - I was at an army base in Nova Scotia, training. Someone in the barracks ran out in the hallway and was like "THEY KILLED FUCKING BIN LADEN". It was pretty cool at the time, everyone came out and got on their phones.

9/11 - I haven't a clue where I was or what I was doing... What year was it? I think I was like 7 or so when it happened... So I was probably doing something with my GF.

7/11 - I was asleep in bed.

Bin Laden's death - I was asleep in bed.

That big Tsunami that was over the news for a while - I was asleep in bed.

That last hurricane that hit various parts of America - I was asleep in bed.

11/11/11 - I woke up and had a pie for breakfast then proceeded to buy Skyrim off of Steam. The next 3 weeks are a blur of Nords.

I guess I know what my priorities are... (Also I spent 24 of the last 48 hours asleep... So I'm sleeping a lot of my younger years away... In between drinking silly amounts and college...)

9/11: I was a sophomore in high school. I was taking the state exam that certain grades have to take in Indiana, the ISTEP. We were on a five or so minute break and another teacher came in and told our exam teacher to turn on the TV, and there it was on the news. After watching it for a few minutes, the teacher turned it off and said, "well, let's just keep our minds off that for now. We have to finished today's leg of the exam."

Then, after that section of the test was over with, we were all about to go to lunch before continuing our late period classes, but the school system decided to send all students home, so we got the rest of the day off.

London Bombings: Don't know much about them. I rarely watch the news, so I never heard about it.

Bin Laden: Again, I don't watch news. Found out about it on the Escapist.

Seriously, if there was an alien invasion, I wouldn't know about it until:

A.) I encountered one that entered my home.

B.) I found out about it on the Escapist.

7/7- Again Dad told me, we made a quick phone call to make sure our friend in London was fine and life went on
Death of Bin Laden- I loled, they took their time, then I found it retarded how they went about getting him.

9/11- I found out as I stepped off of the bus from school. I hadn't actually heard of the Twin Towers or the World Trade Centre, but I soon found out! I was in year 8 and din't really get what was going on...

7/7. I was in the 6th Form, and heard! Me and a friend managed to get into the Staff Room, as it had a working telly, so we could watch the story develop! I remember getting annoyed with someone that day, because they were pretty much saying 'so what, who cares...' They didn't understand the importance of being attacked on our own soil, and also the travesty that was lives being lost! Some people at school were just ignorant pricks by the end of it!

Bin Laden... For some reason I honestly have no idea! Within a month of it happening, I managed to survive a bad car-crash (without a scratch I might add) and broke up with my 4.5 year girlfriend, and I can't really remember where I was! According to the calender I was at work though... So I would have read it as soon as I got in... I just cant remember being told though... If I was told early morning then that may be why I can't remember! I do remember finding out whilst on a course when Anwar al-Awlaki had died, and being over the moon! Thatt guy was a bastard!

Princess Di... I was 9 at the time, and all I wanted to know was that the Saturday Morning Cartoons wern't on! I went and told my parents what all 4 (yes 4!) channels were saying, and they didn't beleive me, and just tried to get back to sleep! (Who didn't rise early as a child on a Saturday!?) I don't remember any more than that though!

9/11 I was in school when it happened I was in my 10th grade year of high school and at the time my brother worked near the world trade center buildings. I was sick to my stomach, I had no idea if he was alive or dead. Then I got home and there he was watching 'Dude where's my car' with my other brother. He called out sick for the first time ever. I WANTED TO KILL HIM!! For worring me that much.

London Bombings Don't remember

Death of Bin Laden I was in bed and the same brother who was sick on 9/11 woke me to show me it air on the news. He had lost 25 friends and felt a small sense of closure (I think misspelled that).

9/11 - At my mother in laws, cleaning up cat sick (when it was first reported on UK TV it said a light aircraft had hit the trade world centre so I finished cleaning up before learning the terrible truth).

London Bombings - Working in a banks call centre, dealing with calls from all the people stuck in London trying to book into hotels that were suddenly charging ten times their normal rates for everything.

Death of Bin Laden - At home, saw it on the news, turned TV off same for Saddam.

9/11 - I was at home on my computer, happily typing away in a chatroom on a Slipknot fan site; suddenly someone on the chat told us to turn on our TVs, and the next few days were spent in terror over what seemed to me the impending outbreak of WW3.

The London what now?

Death of Bin Laden... I don't remember. Heck, I don't even remember the date it happened; by the time they actually got the bastard I'd filed him under 'dead and decayed' for several years, and all the news of his death elicited from me was a shrug.

9/11 I was at school when it happened, in 5th grade during Math Class. My teachers phone rang, and after answering it she turned on the TV and we watched everything happen.

I remember being on the computer during the London Bombings, and I was on the computer when my friend in the Navy called me like a billion times and told me to turn on CNN

9/11 I remember well. I was at work and it was the mid morning. I was listening to Howard Stern at the time when he started going off about the towers. He could see them out his window. It was Stern, so I immediately assumed it was a bad joke, but a few minutes in, my boss came in the back and confirmed.

Howard Stern had some great coverage though. We listened to him until he finished. He was on for hours longer than usual covering it.
