East and West Coast have been covered in 3 and New Vegas. Where should #4 sit? I kinda want it to be set in the north, maybe along the border between the States and annexed Canada. I wonder what sort of Canadian stereotypes would exist in the 2280s.

I'm hoping for either somewhere in the north, like Canada, the Commonwealth or Seattle, or the Southeast. It'll make for a nice change of scenery. It'll be somewhere in North America, I'm sure. And before you say "Oh, America's getting stale! It should be set in China/London/Paris/Tokyo/wherever!", go get a map of North America, and mark out all of the territories the previous Fallout games have covered. Even Tactics and Brotherhood of Steel. There's still huge swathes of America it hasn't touched upon that would make for unique and interesting settings.

I would like to see it in Australia just to hear the ghoul voice with an Australian accent and mutate everything that was trying to kill you into deadlier versions of everything trying to kill you.

Basically, set the game to very hard by default.

I can hardly tell the difference between california or washington as they are still a bloody wasteland for goodness sake.

Seattle sounds good to me. That's what was planned for the Fallout MMO, but that's not gonna happen now. I think it would have a different feel from the other games, while still being close enough that we could see some of the familiar factions.

A character named Dorothy gets blasted by the Experimental MIRV and ends up in the land of Oz.

"Those aren't Munchkins, they're just hideously mutated people."
The tin man will be a Brotherhood of Steel Paladin, calling for a powersource instead of oil, the cowardly lion will be a cowardly Deathclaw, and the scarecrow will be a supermutant ("If I only had a reproductive system")

I'd like to see it set in Arizona. Imagine, the Grand Canyon could be home to a huge group of Super Mutants and possibly some other horrible creatures.

That would be neat if it was a direct sequel to New Vegas. The Southern states have a lot in common, and it would be cool to see the continued expansion of the new societies.

Fallout: New Vegas was probably the most progressive of the Fallout games. It not only showed the survival of humanity after the Great War, but the propagation of society.

I would like a Direct sequel if only to see how much of a dick my main character was in New vegas. Its funny how you can go out of your way to set up things nicely in a Fallout only to find out that your character took the most dickish moves in the game later on.

That's exactly what I'd want to see, either t hat or the Northern Commonwealth. But ONLY if it isn't made by Bethesda. While I loved Fallout 3 as a game, lore wise it was terrible. I can gloss over that as long as they stick to different territories.

Paris or Rome would be pretty awesome. The Capitol Wasteland was significantly better than the massively bleak Nevada dessert. Honestly, that was kind of stupid. And Vegas had a total of like 8 buildings. At least Washington was pretty huge, there was the metro, the museums, plenty of factories and warehouses.
