They really need to do a GTA:SA for this gen console...a big sprawling state with a few cities. They managed to magically do it on the ps2, so i cant see why it cant be done on the 360/PS3

Modern era, San Andreas/Mexico/Canada.

Real world Mexican drug cartels are moving to Canada and fighting over turf with the cartels that stay in Mexico.

Hispanic Protagonist. You'd have a San Diego / Tiajuana equivalent. A Vancouver/Seattle area, and maybe Stockton or Sacramento as a middle area city where main battles happen.

Multiple cities and rural Northen CA or Oregon.

Set it in 2010, and you've got the Olympics going on in Vancouver. Election year. Housing market issues. All kinds of stuff to tie to the plot.

Maybe protagonist a veteran back from a tour in Iraq or Afghanistan being pulled into cartel issues they'd enlisted to avoid? Giving it a little nod to The Godfather.

With a scaled down Los Santos and San Fierro to throw in some shout outs to earlier games.

Hmmm.

Manchester (UK), Liverpool (UK), London, Dubai, New Orleans, Barcelona, Moscow or Rio de Janeiro.

I think it would be cool if it was like everywhere. It would be basically it's own console, like coming with a harddrive, but if Biko Nellic (or whoever) could get a 747 and fasttravel to Heathrow, then nick a police car and drive to Downley HP13 5UB and shoot up my village. That would be awesome.

It's kind of a cop-out, but I really don't care. It'll be awesome wherever it's set

Skyrim.

Seriously though, I'm not sure, though I'd definately prefer a sprawling, open map like San Andreas more than the depressing ever-present grey city in GTA IV.
