Mine was the name of the main character from a fan-fiction i was writing based on the Legacy of Kain, Gincairn was a third party observer fighting to tyr and rid Coorhagen of the plague.

I gave up on writing it after my copy crashed for the third time (I had reached 400 pages) and couldn't be bothered to rewrite it all.

But the name still remains

Stole it from a guy that made a WMP9 skin, other nicks include:
BloodyExcrement - I was thinking about grindcore...
Migrenus Maximus - The name of a sculpture for art class that looks like the face coming out the wall in "The Wall".
WOCKone - Graffiti tag.

I wouldnt say thats one of the BEST, but its a classic Simpsons before things went down hill.

OT: I got my from my birthstone and merged it with my high school spanish class nickname, since I didnt want to use my real name and my real name doesnt sound as good in combination.

I used to use a permutation of my real name until I joined the Malodorous Goat Tavern message board (the official Ravenloft fan board) and decided I needed something to fit the mood. That was many years ago. I still use it, possibly in an unconsciously ironic fashion: I never served and I'm quite pale.

My brain!

Yeah, I pulled Dasnakeman out of my ass when I first made an Xbox Live gamertag. I used it for just about everything online, until some guy on this very site said he thought it said Dr Snakeman. Well, there's no denying that that sounds far cooler, so I changed it, and now I use that name for my online interactions (here, TV Tropes, etc.)

When Halo 2 first came out and I played it at a friends house I needed to make a profile - I make up the word norix -- 596 was the number at the end of his AIM id -- used it for everything unofficial since.

My name comes from novelist James Patterson's book series. Protagonist/detective/psychologist/general badass, Alex Cross. I've been reading the series for years and most recently read "Double Cross," and a username was born. I switch it up sometimes, but Cross is never excluded.

My last name's Magee, and I looked like i was 30 when i was in secondary school (I only look 40 now, yay), so someone called me Geezah. Also I was born in 1991, hence the 91.

I also go by sierra257 on other forums, which came from the combination of a Spartan callsign from Halo and my birthday.

Fianlly, my newest one is tallgeese91, again the year of birth thing is obvious, also I really liked Gundam Wing when I was younger

Kinda just happened while playing in a Halo LAN game. I wanted a new name, so I asked a buddy to give me an adjective. I already chose goose randomly. He gave me the word horny. I slapped the letter "a" in front of it so people run over over by vehicles would be "splattered by ahornygoose". Had to take out the "o" in horny when I used it xbox live. I liked it and have been using it since then.

Edit: I use this current form of my name most often, but occasionally, I use the original. When I play Battlefield 2, I use ahornygoose.

it's a typing error. i wanted my first online gaming name to be 'crazychris99', but, in my youthfull eagerness, i pressed 't' instead of 'y'...funny thing is, i didnt notice that i was called 'craztchris99' for about 6 months, at which point i said, "hey, may as well embrace this mistake" and changed my name to 'CrazT'

No clue, I just made it up on the spot when creating a profile on YouTube, and I use it as an account name for many accounts (PSN, YouTube, Steam, etc.)

Jamous was a fucking badass Playmobil shoemaker from a game called Hype: The Time Quest. I'm still trying to get it to work on my current PC. Game was fucking gold. (Or it seemed that way when I was about 5...)

Mine is rather complicated, it's the last syllable of my name in Irish spelled phonetically and then doubled up because I felt Veen didn't stand up well enough by itself. Veenveen just had more of a ring to it I guess.

My name in Irish is Caoimhín. I get people who can't read Irish to try pronounce it when they are drunk. Good times.

If my avatar hasn't spoiled it, William Gibson, denizen of the pantheon of sci-fi overlords, came up with tis great little AI named wintermute, who basically became the matrix and you should go read Neuromancer. Like now.
