I go on tumblr, identify as a feminist most of the time and generally agree with the main principles of social justice... i wouldnt call myself a warrior though. I dont really enjoy being mean to people :/ But sure im 2/3rds of the way there i suppose.

I like videogames. I want video games to have the diversity of books and art to enrichen the experience for everyone. I guess i count? shit i dont know i hate this new trend, everyones always so angry. Im just too mellow to take part in all this. Ironically i suppose since my views seem to be what SJW's are designated as.

I have this sinking suspicion this is just something repeated by people, almost as an autonomic reaction. I also suspect that, given enough time, every publication will have said or done something to get a "SJW" branding.

I don't like Jason because of his attacks on Dragon Crown's art and Patricia's articles tend to be eyerollingly bad and feel like just blog posts but that is just me.

It doesn't, promote more games. But saying "These games are bad and shouldn't exist because they aren't inclusive enough" is not an action I support. Sorry.

I agree with thorn. I don't visit it much from the impressions I've gotten from it, but Patricia Hernandez is one name I do recognise. Also from having seen multiple "Anita is a hero" and "gamers are trash" articles.

As for 4chan, from what I've read the creator/owner has been hanging out with the SJW crowd, and now people are being banned left right and center for things that were previously absolutely fine. That's why it's gotten the brand. Well it hasn't been branded as an SJW site, but to quote from a comment I've read elsewhere "The SJWs took it over".

If you sit there, have a think, realise that you are generally pretty cool with inclusion and diversity, and say "hell, I guess that makes me a SJW!", then you're wrong. That makes you a decent stand-up human being.

SJWs are people who actively try to tear down everything men know and love, who would sooner see the media and hobby in ruins just to further their own agenda or get smug self satisfaction. Therefore, they don't exist.

Since my other thread didn't really take off the way I wanted I guess I will try something more simple.

That being, where are all the SJWs who like gaming? And I don't mean the fly by night trollers or the well beaten strawmen, I mean people who are like, legit concerned about what they say and what they believe in. But also who happen to play video games.

Anyway, I only know of one solid community. ... that is it really.

Am I missing something? With all this talk of SJWs of late I would think there would be more organized cabals or some such here-bouts out there somewhere. With all this identity politics flown about I'd figure I group with my own kind, but even so, I don't even know where to look.

I honestly don't think they exist as a group identity. It is mostly a strawman used by antis (who seem to be anti a lot of things but not supportive of any unified ideology). The only reason that I take the SJW badge with pride is because I've been called it and I know it pisses the antis off, but I don't have this organized group or site that I frequent to buddy up with other SJWs as we plot to take down the video game industry and then the world.

Anyhow, I certainly love video games and social justice.

So everyone in this thread, could secretly be an SJW. It's an aspect of yourself that needs to be awakened, like megaevolution except the opposite so... whatever Groudon and Kyogre do.

Also Jim Sterling has been branded an SJW and his sheer awesomeness diffuses any negative connotation of the label.

Okay, hopefully you can produce more of them than Thorn could. His attempts to provide such articles involved articles that didn't say what he was reacting to. I don't hold out much hope you'll do better, but vague impressions and vaguer claims? probably bull.

And I recognise Patricia's name, too. It's not hard. She became a scapegoat for what was wrong in the industry, to the point people were making up articles and attributing them to her. That doesn't make her evidence of anything except the internet's capacity for a hate boner.

I see people complaining that someone's coming for their games significantly more than anyone saying "this game shouldn't exist". I guess everyone slept through English class. Academic criticism is not a prelude to banning all FPSs, some people just like dissecting stuff.
