I think some of these are already and some could be:

- Metallica.
- Queen.
- Led Zeppelin.
- The Rolling stones.
- Nirvana.
- The Beatles.
- Mindless self indulgence (What?! Who?..yeah..:p).
- The Doors.

Since no one seems to have mentioned them so far, gonna have to put Journey on the list.

Rocking out to "Don't stop Believin'" in your car on the freeway kicks ass.

While not a band i believe that Eminem will be timeless as he is a differant breed of rapper to the standard 'Guns, money, girls, cars' formula. Hopefully his music will be appreciated for years to come.

The Who have and always will be Timeless, same with Rush. As for recent bands, I guess Pearl Jam will stand the test of time because a lot of music snobs including I like Pearl Jam.

Not sure about Pearl Jam, I'm on the fence but I think I'm leaning no.
Incubus
Muse
Nine Inch Nails
I'd agree with most of those, but I'm gonna also say The Offspring. I'm probably wrong but that would be nice :)

But yeah, Gorillaz had better stay around for a while because there aren't many musicians like them

I took the three I thought probably won't live on out of this list.. Three Days Grace, SwitchFoot and Soundgarden aren't really known well enough to be timeless.

Also, does nobody think the Foo Fighters will live on? They have a pretty decent record, and a huge following.

OH! Lordi as well, will forever be known as the band that trolled the Eurovision song contest. Bravo.

Wait, you know which band should be timeless? Truckfighters. They've got the groove of Kyuss, and rock harder.

Case in point: 'Desert Cruiser' [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLMPA4xPFpg] and the official video for...
Holy shit, I love this, why haven't I heard of these guys before...

A little part of me is laughing itself silly in my mental constructs from some of these suggestions.

My choice goes to Jellyfish. At least, I'd like if it remained timeless. I think of them as what the Beatles would be like if I didn't hate their music.

Rage Against the Machine, for sure. Mostly because of Morello and how amazing he is. People will always point back to him as one of the great guitarists of this era.

Eric Clapton is already timeless, but he's still alive so I guess he counts.

Nine Inch Nails could go either way, but Reznor has been putting out new music for over 20 years now and while some of the earlier stuff might have had a "shock" factor, which typically leads to short-lived relevance, he never really faded out completely.

Tool, APC...hell, anything Maynard is involved with.

Poets of the Fall, I don't care if no one knows who they are damnit they're awesome. Please tell me someone, anyone knows who they are, maybe it is just me, but I think they are one of the best bands out there.
