I remember last year, big titles, a lot of spending and everything, unfortunately a new game like Alan Wake didn't sale that well, the worst thing about it is that it was pretty good.

I feel this year there is a lot of big titles, some new some, nostalgic and some sequels.

Now days I think Gamers have more than just one console so there are a lot of choices but not everyone have the money to spend in more than 4 new games per year and I mean new because there is no profit for developers if you buy a used game(im not saying buying used games is bad)

So which title do you feel will fail in that aspect?

If there are some grammar errors it's because English is not my first language.

Here is a list of some big titles:
Crysis 2
Killzone 3
Marvel vs Capcom 3
Mortal Kombat
Elder Scrolls V
Bulletstorm
Zelda
Dragon Age 2
Uncharted 3
Killzone 3
Gears 3
Duke Nukem Forever
Mass Effect 3
L.A. Noire
Batman Arkham City.
The Last Guardian
Deus Ex
Crysis 2
Portal 2
F3AR
Battlefield 3
Homefront
COD MW3 (Rumor)
Brink
Saints Row 3
Disgaea 4

PS: THIS ARE THE BIG TITLES COMING THIS YEAR..... IM NOT SAYING EVERY GAME ON THIS LIST WILL FAIL. I'M SAYINH ONE OR TWO GAMES IN THIS LIST COULD.

Everyone is pointing out Homefront, L.A. Noire and Bulletstorm.
-Personally I think Homefront may sell well because if I recall well, I heard a rumor that the game will be at 50 dollars or 40 from the start, so that may be a good strategy, (a lot of people buy deadly premonition because "It was fun and cheap").

- L.A. Noire is a Rockstar game and the facial technology looks pretty awesome and also I have no doubts about buying the game. Also take a look at the list.... Not so many sandbox right?

- Bulletstorm might have all the people that are tired of FPS trying to be so serious, or every guy who is tired or hate Call Of Duty game, so I think it will sell well.

I think Brink will be the game with low sales, maybe because of the marketing, it was announce long time ago and now pretty much everyone forget about the game, also I don't even have a clue how is the gameplay, story or something.

Virtually by the fact they actually went there, and chose F3AR as a title, that game basically deserves to rot in the shelves :|

HomeFront won't do too well. Most of the sequels will do pretty well. L.A Noire, is most likely, shame looks promising.

Is this a new trend on the escapist? I've seen a lot of threads about which new games are going to suck/sell badly. What's with all the pessimism?

Seeing as Ico and Shadow of the Colossus sold for shit, probably The Last Guardian.

It's still my most anticipated game of the year by a lightyear though.

Duke Nukem Forever. Hyped enough for people to want to play it. Too risky to buy new for the same reason it's hyped.

Marvel vs Capcom 3
Mortal Combat

They're both fighting games, so they won't do incredibly well. However MvC3 will do well enough, while I think Mortal Combat will fail. I hope it does too.

Bulletstorm - Maybe. I think it'll do decently enough.
Duke Nukem Forever - After 10 years of development, it's impossible for this game to live up to it's expectations. This game is going to fail.
The Last Guardian - Don't know what this is...
Deus Ex - This is either going to be a great success, or a flop. Could go either way I think.
Portal 2 - Will do well enough, but likely below what people are assuming it'll sell.
F3AR - I can't even believe there is a 3rd one at all at this point...
Homefront - It'll probably be an ok game that sells decently still somehow...

I didn't like even the first F.E.A.R. I can't stand a first person character to be moving on it's own, at all, and there wasn't really anything good in that game otherwise.

But you know they just can't wait to name the next one FE4R.

OT: A wild grenade towards L.A. Noire, Bullestorm and F3AR.

Modern Warfare 3

ha ha ha, that's wishful thinking.

But when you think about it after Guitar Hero went under the next logical step to making the games world a better place would be for Call of Duty to go under and scare the pants off all the other would be designers that are trying to put out another crappy FPS.
That way we might see an original game hit the fucking shelves in our lifetime.

LA Noire for sure, and one of either Bulletstorm or DNF. Though, I suspect DNF will have amazing Day 1 sales figures.

I really think L.A. Noire, Bulletstorm, and Homefront are all going to bomb. Especially Bulletstorm. I haven't seen ANYTHING about that game that excites me even a little bit. The demo was quite frankly horrible.

I think DNF will sell well. It's not going to push Call of Duty numbers, but it will be successful.

I don't think FEAR 3 will sell very well, given that fan reaction to the second was less than positive. I'm hoping that Deus Ex does well, but with much of the original fanbase shunning it, it falls onto them attracting new players to the franchise.
