I can see Brink failing, not that I want it to, it looks AWESOME, and I'm definitely getting it, but, because most FPS players are either CoD or Halo whores I don't see this doing well!

Depending on when they release it Deus Ex will either sell brilliantly or not at all. And even though they're my most anticipated games I think that Catherine and The Last Guardian will absolutely BOMB no matter what.

I've got a nasty feeling that LA Noire won't sell as well as hoped.
Rockstar is pretty damn good at marketing. They'll step it up closer to launch. Look at how well Red Dead Redemption did, and it's not like Red Dead Revolver was a blockbuster.

I'd say Homefront and possibly Bulletstorm.
I don't know why, but this post and your Avatar made me laugh. Maybe because a few people are saying DNF will fail.

OT: A tough one, but I'd say Homefront or The Last Guardian. The first one because what I've seen hasn't blown me away. the second because Team Ico make quite particular games. Now they've got a lot of good PR from making "Unappreciated Classic" games, and there may be a bigger marketing push, but the mainstream crowd (where you get the big money from) may not be interested in the style. Ico and SotC didn't do as well as they should have done, and maybe it'll happen again.

Pessimism: I'm willnig to bet that Warhammer 40K Online: Dark Millenium will fail. Even though it probably shouldn't...

Uncharted 3, F3AR and MW3 I don't have high hopes for.

Uncharted hasn't taken off too much, and I don't see an audience for it other than fans of the franchise.

F3AR isn't really relevant anymore, and even my friends who were into it never play or discuss it anymore.

For MW3, I think people are going to finally wake up. Their have been too many CoD games released so recently, and on top of that Medal of Honor releases as well. There's only so many times people are going to pay 60 bucks for the next installment of "Basic Army Shooter", and after Black Coc- sorry, Ops and its issues I don't think it will do nearly as well as past installments. Maybe I feel this way because I'm an avid hater of Cod. A big part of me feels that once this phase of boring FPSs passes through, we can get back to interesting and innovative shooters that are not about marines.

CoD is greatly responsible for this annoying trend. Halo to a lesser extent, but they were doing Space marines before everyone else tried to grab a piece of their pie, so I show them mercy. Even though I hate CoD, part of me hopes the rumors are true and the game comes out so people get that chance to see the error of their ways.

On the other hand, Dragon Age and Saint's Row 3? Wooo!

The trailer seems irrelevant. It's a game that's been discussed for over a decade. Even if it is just another boring shooter "that any company can shat out in a year", it's going to sell.

The Last Guardian, Brink, Deus Ex Human Revolution and Duke Nukem Forever I think have the biggest chances of failing. Incidentally, the first 3 are games I'm really interested in. I don't seem to gravitate towards the popular games, so to a certain degree that I'll like a game is an indication of its potential failure.

I'm quite surprised at the amount of pessimism as to how LA Noire will perform. To me it looks like one of the best games coming out this year. And it's from Rockstar, who also did RDR and GTA: SA some of my favourite games.

OT: I think that Homefront, Brink and F3AR will probably not do well. I'm sincerely hoping that Battlefield 3 is as awesome as it looks. I also feel that in relation to DNF there are a lot of people who want to buy it, but are worried that it wont live up to expectation. I must admit I'm included in that number.

Marvel vs Capcom 3 -- unless the market falls out for fighting games, I figure it's pretty safe
Mortal Kombat -- ditto
Elder Scrolls V -- popular RPG franchise, it's a hit
Bulletstorm -- could easily under-perform, but I think the advance buzz from the demo indicates otherwise
Zelda -- core Nintendo franchise, don't see it faltering now
Dragon Age 2 -- popular RPG franchise, success
Uncharted 3 -- don't know if it can surpass the second one, but it's a pretty safe bet it'll be a hit
Gears 3 -- ditto
Duke Nukem Forever -- can't hazard a guess until we see a demo. If the game is any kind of quality, it'll do well
Mass Effect 3 -- see Gears & Uncharted... also popular RPG franchise, safe as houses
L.A. Noire -- best guess is it's a hit because it's from Rockstar, but it's a new IP, so anything can happen
Batman Arkham City -- should be successful. Too much Bat history for the last game to be a fluke.
The Last Guardian -- know nothing about this one.
Deus Ex -- I'm hopeful and it's certainly got a lot of eyes on it. But it's an IP with no recent history and a fanbase that is going to be hyper critical.
Crysis 2 -- probably a solid seller, but not a break-out hit.
Portal 2 -- this is like a half-hour comedy getting a feature length movie... can they stretch the material to fit a full length game or does the audience start checking its watches half an hour in.
F3AR -- third entry in a popular franchise. Should perform.
Battlefield 3 -- know nothing of the franchise. No guess
Homefront -- this one can go either way. If the single player is up to snuff and it gets good reviews, it should be a solid hit. If the game is a near-miss like Medal Of Honor, it'll probably just do okay. Definitely depends on the reviews.
COD MW3 (Rumor) -- if it comes out, it's a big hit... just like all the others. CoD probably gets one shit entry before audience erosion starts to set in and I don't think Black Ops was that.
Someone who knows what the hell they're talking about, finally.

WOOOOOO Saints Row 3, so awesome in many ways...

I didn't even hear of L.A. Noire until now. So I'm going to go ahead and say that one.
BIG mistake my friend. Its a Rockstar game where you play as detectives and solve murders and such and find evidence and having to interrogate the suspects and see if they are lying since you have to tell it from their face....

for me.

Killzone 3
Homefront
mortal Kombat - Not in Australia = - profits

Killzone 3 sold 529,579 just the first week so i think it will be on the million at the month maybe.
HomeFront already sale 200,000 pre-order copies breaking THQ records in preorder, but still we'll need the final numbers.
Mortal Kombat.- Well that's might be a good point, but retro gamers are willing to have this game, PS3 gamers want this game (Kratos is playable), fighting genre has a lot of audience and since there is not so many popular fighting games this year, I think it's going to be fine.
Bulletstorm: THis might be true

So.
Everyone was pretty sure that HomeFront, Bulletstorm, F3AR, dukeNukem Forever and L.A. Noire were going to fail.

Homefront: It did sale really really great, the first title for this franchise and did amazing I bet there are more games like this coming.
Bulletstorm sold like 700,000 copies. So I think it did well.

So this year might be some surprises on sales.

I will buy DNF and L.A. Noire so maybe thats why I think it is not possible for those games to fail.

Now there is a BIG surprise. It seems Dragon Age 2 is close to sale a million of copies. But I EA and Bioware thought that game would sale 2 or 3 million of copies AT LEAST so for me that game is a surprise and failing as well as Dead Space2.

If you don't agree is ok.
