I can see Brink failing, not that I want it to, it looks AWESOME, and I'm definitely getting it, but, because most FPS players are either CoD or Halo whores I don't see this doing well!
Rockstar is pretty damn good at marketing. They'll step it up closer to launch. Look at how well Red Dead Redemption did, and it's not like Red Dead Revolver was a blockbuster.kman123 said:I've got a nasty feeling that LA Noire won't sell as well as hoped.
I don't know why, but this post and your Avatar made me laugh. Maybe because a few people are saying DNF will fail.Sieni said:I'd say Homefront and possibly Bulletstorm.
Sorry, I've never played that game, I never heard of it, that's why is not that a lot of people is talking about it. Also I wrote SOME OF THE BIG TITLES, in case I forgot a titles69-5 said:Hey where's Disgaea 4??? Not big enough to be on your list is it? Pfft!
Well obviously.merkin flerp said:you obviously do not know what you are talking aboutethaninja said:I didn't even hear of L.A. Noire until now. So I'm going to go ahead and say that one.
Someone who knows what the hell they're talking about, finally.Netrigan said:Marvel vs Capcom 3 -- unless the market falls out for fighting games, I figure it's pretty safe
Mortal Kombat -- ditto
Elder Scrolls V -- popular RPG franchise, it's a hit
Bulletstorm -- could easily under-perform, but I think the advance buzz from the demo indicates otherwise
Zelda -- core Nintendo franchise, don't see it faltering now
Dragon Age 2 -- popular RPG franchise, success
Uncharted 3 -- don't know if it can surpass the second one, but it's a pretty safe bet it'll be a hit
Gears 3 -- ditto
Duke Nukem Forever -- can't hazard a guess until we see a demo. If the game is any kind of quality, it'll do well
Mass Effect 3 -- see Gears & Uncharted... also popular RPG franchise, safe as houses
L.A. Noire -- best guess is it's a hit because it's from Rockstar, but it's a new IP, so anything can happen
Batman Arkham City -- should be successful. Too much Bat history for the last game to be a fluke.
The Last Guardian -- know nothing about this one.
Deus Ex -- I'm hopeful and it's certainly got a lot of eyes on it. But it's an IP with no recent history and a fanbase that is going to be hyper critical.
Crysis 2 -- probably a solid seller, but not a break-out hit.
Portal 2 -- this is like a half-hour comedy getting a feature length movie... can they stretch the material to fit a full length game or does the audience start checking its watches half an hour in.
F3AR -- third entry in a popular franchise. Should perform.
Battlefield 3 -- know nothing of the franchise. No guess
Homefront -- this one can go either way. If the single player is up to snuff and it gets good reviews, it should be a solid hit. If the game is a near-miss like Medal Of Honor, it'll probably just do okay. Definitely depends on the reviews.
COD MW3 (Rumor) -- if it comes out, it's a big hit... just like all the others. CoD probably gets one shit entry before audience erosion starts to set in and I don't think Black Ops was that.
WOOOOOO Saints Row 3, so awesome in many ways...Haydyn said:Uncharted 3, F3AR and MW3 I don't have high hopes for.
Uncharted hasn't taken off too much, and I don't see an audience for it other than fans of the franchise.
F3AR isn't really relevant anymore, and even my friends who were into it never play or discuss it anymore.
For MW3, I think people are going to finally wake up. Their have been too many CoD games released so recently, and on top of that Medal of Honor releases as well. There's only so many times people are going to pay 60 bucks for the next installment of "Basic Army Shooter", and after Black Coc- sorry, Ops and its issues I don't think it will do nearly as well as past installments. Maybe I feel this way because I'm an avid hater of Cod. A big part of me feels that once this phase of boring FPSs passes through, we can get back to interesting and innovative shooters that are not about marines.
CoD is greatly responsible for this annoying trend. Halo to a lesser extent, but they were doing Space marines before everyone else tried to grab a piece of their pie, so I show them mercy. Even though I hate CoD, part of me hopes the rumors are true and the game comes out so people get that chance to see the error of their ways.
On the other hand, Dragon Age and Saint's Row 3? Wooo!
BIG mistake my friend. Its a Rockstar game where you play as detectives and solve murders and such and find evidence and having to interrogate the suspects and see if they are lying since you have to tell it from their face....ethaninja said:I didn't even hear of L.A.
