Seconded. That or something either King or Pratchett (depending on your mood). I would recommend Tommyknockers or Night Watch (respectively).
I stand corrected - it was a shot in the dark, lol

So hard to pick a small amount of books to recommend! I'd say Fight Club and The Road To Mars (by Monty Python's Eric Idle)

Another vote for 1984 here. The book conjures up so much more imagery than any film could.

OT: If you haven't read Watchmen, you really should.

And if you'd take suggestions on non graphic novels, A Song of Ice and Fire is really awesome. It's very popular, so you probably already read it though.
No, I have only heard about it in a CAD comic, he did a few years back. What is the book about?

You should get to the library.

Also, books you should read that I can remember right now are American Gods, Clockwork Orange, Nineteen Eighty-Four and Good Omens. Rest of what I'd recommend I saw in this thread multiple times.

I do go to the library for books I read only once. But having my own library makes me feel more intelligent. Also, it looks good with the ladies with the ladies. Watch, "Yes, I enjoy going to my private study and reading a good novel."

Not sure which one you're talking about, so:

Watchmen- About vigilante crime fighters (some with super powers) are trying to stop world destruction. It sounds pretty simple but the characters and their deep and meaningful backstories and personalities are what make it so good. Very believable.

A Song of Ice and Fire- A trilogy of books that have to do with a fantasy world where seasons last hundreds of years, and it follows a multitude of characters through their interconnected doings. I'm only half way through the first book and I can tell its amazing. Very believable and realistic. Lots of violence and sex, like real life, so stay away from it if you don't like that kind of thing.

Yes, A Song of Ice and Fire did sound good that might very well be my second book, but sadly I will have to wait until next month as I am already getting two books and can only afford one more. I would want to get a trilogy book in a box set.
I might get Watchmen that one has been mentioned a few times.

You don't need anything else. I've reread that book so many times I still love it.
You fucking win.

Also, I would recommend the Preacher series (graphic novel) or Patient Zero by Jonathan Maberry.
