I want one built into my prescription glasses.

It tells me the time, and identifies friend from foe.

Sometimes I wish I had a Linux-based phone so I could customize it a bit more.
you can jailbreak it (its legal!) just go to: jailbreakme.com (on your phone)

Quite aware. Still not as customizable as a few Linux-based phones I have encountered.

or you could look if there is some work-around to make it run, when its jailbroken you might be able to change the firmware to Linux

Droid X. Love the crap out of it, but the lack of a physical keyboard has taken some getting used to. If it weren't for Swype, I probably would have stuck with the original Droid I used to have.

The point is I use it all the time when out, and even when I've not had a computer to use, and it's really helpful.

So yeah, you may not understand, but I sure do, and please understand that, at least, that I need it.
Personally, I don't know how many times I've saved the day with just my phone's GPS. It also replaced my car GPS, but when it really shines is pulling it out when other people get lost with me. They get into the mild panic of us not getting where we're going, I pull out my phone and it'll get us there. The usefulness of this feature goes down significantly if there are other smartphones/GPS, but its pretty awesome when you're the one prepared.

You never actually said what phone you have. I have the HTC Aria, I love my tiny smartphone (and thank Raptor Jesus for Swype).
I have the Nokia E72.

Yeah, yeah, I'd prefer something similar to yours (a touchscreen, probably an Android, too) but I pretty recently got this (half a year ago or so) so I'm not buying a new one just yet.

But it's still pretty good, I like it.

I use a Nokia 2310 Pizza Ordering Machine. No QWERTY keyboard, no cell phone games, barely enough storage space for naked pictures of ex-girlfriends I'll post to the Internet someday...

I have an LG rumor and I would not change it for anything it is durable and is convenient for my needs.

I have a Blackberry Curve (oh god it's so beautiful, and it vibrates!). I don't think I would ask for any other phone because the MSN feature on it is lovely, and I just love the fast service on it.

Well, I wouldn't say it's that durable. Mine went through the washing machine and didn't survive...
