I would probably get rid of the Green Lantern, I don't know much about comics, aside from knowledge from watching the Big Picture. I just know that 10 years was wasted in the 1900's because of bitching and moaning.

How many people have actually looked into Aquaman beyond the shitty silver age from a good few years ago? Not many apparently.

I'm going to go with Batman. Not because I don't like him, I fucking love him; it's just that he's too much of a poster boy now. He stands out far too much and he overshadows almost every other superhero out there, look on DC's website and I can promise you that there's 3:1 ratio of Batman to everything else.

Other than that, I like almost every hero. Except Capt America, scrap him.
its sad that not many people read aquaman because he's actually interesting now.

Well, I would get rid of Batman from the DC universe. But that might cause angry fanboys to come after me, so.
Since the OP said 'never existed', there would be no fans to kill you, just a country feeling as though it were missing something vital. Then, they'd turn to Canada's greatest superhero, the Red Panda!

OT: I'd get rid of Superman...so long as we replace him with Comet Guy, a hero from a planet of superheroes whose greatest weakness is that sometimes...he's gotta dance!

I agree with getting rid of the "girl" knock offs as well as anything like that i.e. Superboy, Superdog, Captain Marvel knock offs. though i would keep things like the Robins. but maybe if the knock offs weren't there we would get more interesting female comic book characters or at least different

I would say...Sentry? He's dead now, but I'd prefer that that douche never existed.

Why do you hate Captain America so much? I'm British, and I personally love the character. He isn't really a propaganda tool (or at least hasn't been since the 60's) and the whole 'America' part is just a holdover. He's the ultimate idealistic superhero, moreso than Superman in my opinion.

Captcha: Night Owl. I don't know, captcha, I liked the guy.

Yeah I like Captain America too.

I think he's just better than Superman.

Sure Cap has super powers, but he's still very much mortal.
His super strength isn't that high, nor is his agility.
Essentially he is the best a human can get with training and some enhancements from the super serum.

And he's not super smart like Tony or Reed, but he's a genius on the battlefield.
He uses his well-earned status and charisma to inspire those around him, and he's been in so many teams in his lifetime, that he has developed that ability to lead to the point that it is just natural to him.

And he's better than Superman, because he really takes the time to absorb his surroundings, to question the status quo.

Ultimately its his iron will that is his greatest asset. He never gives up in situations where many would have turned and fled. Hell Thor, an actual God, would gladly follow the man into the depths of hades!

As for which superhero I would want to get rid off, then its Daredevil.
Don't get me wrong, he's kinda cool, but the premise of the character is kind of silly, and he looks kind of silly with other superheroes.

Ahhh, this is tricky. Just as a throw out here, everyone who says remove Aquaman is obligated to read Geoff Johns run and then apologise. It's tricky, because I was GOING to say Firestorm, the new direction it was taking was annoying me but it looks set to iron out with him being the 2-in-1 style hero again so wanna keep that, the nuclear weapon analogues where Russia, UK and France having firestorms too was awesome so guess that can't be the one now...

I think I'm going Red Hulk. The concept is stupid, it makes whatever General Ross stood for obsolete, the stories are just blech to me, it's a dumb iteration that just lead to MORE "Everyone gets a Hulk!" plots, I just... cannot deal with it. No. No Red Hulk please.

Agreed. Jim Lee, just give up, WildCATS is not going to become a "thing" ever again. I know you've basically redesigned DC to be 1992 again, but in reality... it isn't.

While dealing with New 52 junk: Let's get rid of Bunker too. The Hispanic gay superhero with the power to create "Psychic Bricks" (the jokes write themselves) that was created just to give the Teen Titans "diversity" since they decided to remove the established ethnic characters from the book.

You don't like Bunker? He makes that whole book worth reading to me (him and Kid Flash, even if his history's been thrown through a blender). His powers may not be awesome and he may have been written in by editorial mandate but compared to Skitter and how the old titans are coming across at least he's interesting to read and has a personality to speak of. Can see where you're coming from but still, I think he's alright.

Good point, Honestly I would get rid of Skitter if I was going to get rid of someone. She just doesn't leave much of an impression on me, specifically because she is just sort of 'there' while Bunker is just always going on about one thing or another.

Kind of like Neelix and Ensign Kim on Star Trek Voyager. Kim's inability to be good at anything is annoying and stupid and he's not needed on the show, but Neelix is just always there in every scene, saying or doing something frustrating.

So yeah, Skitter first. If i get a second choice... actually I'd probably get rid of the new version of "Solstice" or as I call her "Not the Raven!"

Man, I guess Bunker was just the first one to pop into my head now that I think about it.

CAPTCHA: Nth Degree - Hey I just watched that episode of STTNG!

Okay, first of all Daredevil doesn't have a silly premise. Secondly, Cap doesn't have super-strength, he's got peak human strength. In other words, he's got the highest evel of strength that anybody can reach through natural means like training and eating right. No regular human is stronger than him, but everybody with superhuman strength is. Of course, he usually defeats them anyway because this is Cap we're talking about.

Me? I'd remove Azrael. Darker and edgier Batman? Not my cup of tea.

None of them. Why? Well, removing a good character is a bad idea. Removing a bad character is also a bad idea, since that's character failure is an example to us of what not to do. Removing a mediocre character seems cruel since there only crime is just not standing out enough. I just can't pick a target for this.

Sweet! Captcha agrees with me!
Fucking Deadpool. I would throw him under a bus with spiked wheels full of fat people. Ugh, his fandom utterly infuriates me when he's just... He's silly.
Toss in my vote for Deadpool as well. He's made me giggle in the past, but he's more likely to make me groan. Eat it, Wade. Aqua Teen Hunger Force isn't fucking funny, and neither are you.
Come on, he's just a joke. What's wrong with jokes?
I love a good joke. That's just it, though: Deadpool isn't a good joke. Hell, an argument could be made that he's a testament to the continued existence of sexism and misogyny in comics. He basically was created(by the worst person in the industry's history, I might add) to replace a similarly off-the-wall character to whom Marvel thought the audience couldn't relate because said character is female.

...also, he's not funny.

Aquaman, because he sounds like a joke, Iron Man, because he?s the least interesting of the two billionaire superheroes and I?ve just never found him interesting, and all the female knock-offs of existing superheroes (e.g. Supergirl, Spidergirl, Batgirl).

Oh, and I?ve never been a fan of Robin either. Batman just seems like a strong character without that pansy around him. And there really needs to be a good superheroine; Wonder Woman just doesn?t cut it. Catwoman doesn't count, nor is she a good role model for girls; she?s just fanservice for men. The female members of the X-Men are part of an ensemble, and as such, they don't carry a series by themselves.

But Deadpool isn't sexist or misogynistic. He was created by someone who was but everthing he is now has to do with good writers actually getting ahold of him and making him something completely different.

Also yeah I would get rid of the Sentry if he wasn't already gone. But I wouldn't remove him from ever happening. Before he became an actual part of the Marvel U he was interesting. His first Miniseries was fun.
