Which comic book would *you* make into a movie?

What is it and why?

Conditions:
- Remakes and reboots are fine.
- The movie would have the cast and director of your choice.
- You would have total control over plot, continuity and any sequels to follow.

For me it would be a tough choice.

1) Green Lantern really deserves a better franchise.

Heck, say what you want about the continuity and controversy over the whole Parralax->Kyle->Rebirth->Blackest Night->War progression, but I really enjoy the story overall and am fine with the various twists and turns.

If I had a choice, I'd make it into a trilogy. First movie would be an introduction of Hal, Sinestro going evil and end with Sinestro imprisoned and Hal victorious, but troubled.
The second would involve the destruction of Coast City, Hal's descent into madness and becoming Parallax. Sinestro would be freed to fight him, and Kyle could be introduced in some fashion. It would end with Hal wiping out most of the Corps and Kyle taking over as GL.
The third would be the emergence of the Sinestro Corps, Hal's redemption and the final fight against Parallax's true form. Or something. It wouldn't strictly be canon, but it would be a damn sight better than the craptastic movie.

2) The Flash.

I'm amazed there isn't one of these already. Cool power set, some pretty deep and interesting arcs, probably the second best Rogue's Gallery in the DC arsenal aside from Batman. Story and cast, I don't know. But again - lots of options.

3) Green Arrow.

Again, amazed there isn't one. Another solid DC character with a pretty interesting backstory, look and an interesting archetype that hasn't really been done much. Black Canary is also an intriguing character that could stand to be introduced into the film. Best of all - with Flash and Green Arrow around, you'd just be a Wonder Woman film away from a possible Justice League movie :).

If I was DC.

The Authority. Superheroes as violent bastards. Costumes that would translate easily. The Midnighter. How is this not a movie?

Justice League Dark (but with a better name). Put Constantine, Zatanna and Deadman in a team, add great characters who haven't been members like Resurrection Man, Hitman and Black Canary. A superhero occult action heist movie movie.

I'll think of marvel in a bit.

Green Arrow is getting a tv show, if you didn't know.

Umm IDK I don't read many comics, so maybe Spawn?

I'd like a remake of Spawn. Director I have no clue but a good Spawn movie would be kick ass.

Motherfucking Deadpool Movie.

Dont even bother going into origins for this guy. Have him already in the suit doing crazy shit and the character will speak for itself.

And for goodness sake Marvel. Give it an R rating. Being struck at PG-13 is one of the things holding Wolverine back. Wade needs to have that crazy over the top violence.

Cast
- John Simm as Deadpool
- Shia Lebeouf as Weasel, just because he'll get his ass abused through the whole moive.
-Harrison Ford as Cable

I'd just pretend to be making the best movie of all times directed by Michael Bay with a screenplay by George Lucas and Steven Spielberg and then use my infinite budget to wipe out all memory of the current Green Lantern film. THEN we can talk about a reboot.

Can I say I'd like to see DC do more of their animated films. Like, the whole Green Lantern sage from leading up to Blackest Night until the end of Brightest Day.

And on a second thought I'd like to add a completely different approach to this topic and say I'd love to get a few more Tintin comics made into whole films. Not like that Spielberg crap though, I mean the real proper 70ish productions. Best French thing since Napoleon turned Europe metric.

Captcha: nice job.
Thanks, captcha. Thanks very much.

Wonder Woman. I don't have any particular demands as to the cast and crew. I just want such a fascinating character to get a dignified treatment on the big screen; one that focuses on the symbol Wonder Woman is for women across the globe rather than on how good she looks in a flag-colored bathing suit.

One word: Batman.

One that doesn't feel like a crime/thriller movie that has Batman in it.
One that isn't ridiculously campy.
One that lets the Joker's past remain enigmatic while still making sure that he resembles the comic book version. And doesn't think that the Penguin ought to live in the sewers.
That's what I want.

(Sure, I love the Burton movies and the Nolan ones too. But I'd like a movie that takes the characters from the comics and puts them on the big screen. That's all I'm asking for.)

Director? I don't know.

This would be a risky and a challenging choice but I would make a Black Panther film.
Wakanda itself would be visual pleasing just like Asgard from Thor which I hoped wouldn't offend some people out there.

I'd like Marvel Studios to remake a Fantastic Four movie. I'm not really that big a fan of them but adding in the Fantastic Four to the Marvel Cinematic Universe could easily pave the way for some good villains like the Skrulls, Galactus and Doctor Doom.

My other ideas are Doctor Strange, Guardians of The Galaxy and Deadpool. However, Doctor Strange is hinted at being in the next Thor movie, A Guardians of The Galaxy movie is due out at around 2014 and Deadpool is getting his own tie-in free videogame so I need not give a crap about a movie (which I've heard is in the works).

Preacher, but as a TV show rather than a film. The pacing would be much better with more time available.

Transmetropolitan. I'm not sure who would play the role of Spider (I just don't see Patrick Stewart doing it.), but in the right hands it would make an absolutely kick-ass movie.

A League of Extraordinary Gentlemen film, but done right. Keep Mina as the leader of the group and don't shoehorn in an American character just so the focus groups have someone to relate to. Leave the majority of the characters as the amoral and murderous bastards they are, instead of making them more relatable.

Also An animated Fabulous Furry Freak brothers movie could be quite funny. I think they were making one but it seems to be in development hell.

DMZ. Journalist goes to a New York City turned to a warzone amidst a Civil War. One of the best damn comic series I've ever read.

A movie won't do it much justice. It's a 72 issue series, so it'll have to be a miniseries of at least 15 episodes. Heck, I can imagine "Empire State of Mind" playing as the intro theme already.

100 Bullets.

It's a great modern noir story, with conspiracies and double crosses galore and great characters.

OP I'm pretty sure there's a Flash movie already, remember seeing it as a kid. It....was not good.

The movie I'd like to see is a Marvel Studios X-Men chronology. Kick off with the original team, add new members and build up to Fatal Attractions (still my favourite X-Men saga) Failing that, sodding Apocalypse or Mr Sinister, would be great to move away from Magneto for a bit of variety. Chances of any of this happening, slim to nothing. Thank you Fox.

Either a reboot of Daredevil done by Marvel Studios or one big "Heroes for Hire" movie, and get Iron Fist and Luke Cage a movie.

As for DC, I say Wonder Woman, if only because it's long overdue. But if it was one I really wanted, I'd say Suicide Squad or Secret Six.
