"Which Console is better" An Empirical answer.

I am pleased to arrive on this thread to see it's derailing with purple lightsabers and colours themselves and other random stuff.
This question is old, can never be really solved or agreed upon because of ignorant fanboys too stuck up their own ass.

Also I like the colour white, It has all the colours in it so it just wins

Going by number of exclusives that are "worth playing" (in my own opinion) I'd say that PS3 and 360 are now about neck and neck, mainly thanks to PS3 having had such a good year and next year is looking even better for the black beauty while 360 has definitely stalled.

If anyone is looking for advice you'd be happy with either console though Xbox 360 has a slight edge in quality of multiplatform games and a better line up of DLG (downloadable games) with XBLA.

However that is countered by how PS3 usually has the edge in quality for exclusive titles (Uncharted 2 > Gears of War 2) and the PSN line up is not terrible (though generally more expensive), that is compensated by Blu-ray which is really worth it once you get a 1080p screen.

All in all, I highly recommend you get both platforms, in the long run at least as they each have so much to offer.

But if you want to know where I think you are best to spend your gaming money, and that is investing in a decent gaming PC. You can get ridiculous power for a reasonable cost now and is the ultimate gaming platform for most multiplatform games as why play games like Assassin's Creed 2 in 720p @ 30fps when you can have 1080p @ 60fps? That is what PC can offer.

To clarify the matter of empiricism at issue: The described method will give a result as to what people should consider to be the best console given certain assumptions that may not and probably don't hold in the vast majority of people who give a fuck.

AAA games aren't the best measure of a system's quality. How about the following considerations:
Units sold
Attach rate
Longevity
Diversity of genres
Number of exclusives vs. multi-platform titles
Additional features

et cetera.

Also note that PC is really 2 platforms: one with hundreds of millions of units sold that plays Minesweeper and tower defense, and one with a few million sold that plays Crysis.
