David Gaider. He's chiefly responsible for Baldur's Gate II (which is still, more or less, the pinnacle of Western RPG's) and the amazing "Ascension" mod he made after the fact. In spite of his recent faults with Dragon Age II, I still consider him one of the, if not the, best writers in video games, and I will still buy anything his name is attached to.

Shigeru Miyamoto. 'Nuff said.

1) Valve
2) Entirety of Nintendo (When you grow up with a SNES, you grew up with Nintendo)
3) Obsidian. Knights of the old Republic 2. As bug filled as it was, i will stand by obsidian. Plus Fallout New vegas.
4) Capco...no....no...i cant say that anymore...*sigh*...who else...CD Projekt
5) Bethesda. Yes Bethesdas my 5th choice, but i love them all the same.

I would follow Bethesda. I have enjoyed every single game that I have played form them immensely. And before someone comes in with: what about Brink? We are talking developed, not produced.

But what about IHRA Drag Racing!? ............

OT: Cryptic Comet maybe. As he seems to have a very good idea as to how hell might work.

When was the last time that Nintendo developed and released, in-house, a terrible game? Not a 'merely good' game, or an 'underwhelming' game, or a 'decent to average' game, but an actual, honest-to-god terrible game? I can't think of one.
New Super Mario Bros. Wii immediately springs to mind, good lord that game was horrible, every stage felt like you were on ice, let alone how slippery it got when you reached the actual ice stages, it kicked you out of the stage each and every time you died and also had to reload the entire level each time you died, you constantly bounced off of any friends you played with which only ended up pissing everyone off, and making some elevator sections nearly impossible to keep everyone alive as the main hazard was accidentally coming into contact with each other, precision jumping was out of the question with how much you slid around the level, and they used that fucking lives system, so when somebody died too much they had to sit on their ass until everyone else died or they finished the level, which is a great idea for a co-op game isn't it?

Incidentally, most of the games you listed as positives for the Wii were not first party games.

Nintendo is a company I would have followed a while ago, but not any more, there's a few that I still would, Bioware, Valve Atlus, Tri-Ace (the combat in those games are almost always fantastic) and maybe From Software.

Before Borderlands 2 was released, I would have said Gearbox. I still like Randy Pitchford, but I've already passed on DLC2 after both the main game and the first DLC just weren't that good.

But I would have to say From Software. Between Tenchu 3 and 4, and the Souls games I think I've already followed them a lil bit of the way.

I wish I could say Bethesda, but they obviously don't need any help along that path. They seem to be skipping down it at the moment unmolested by things like quality control or good public relations.

Obsidian. Their chances look pretty grim, but I hope project Eternity will bring them back into the industry. After all, no other company allows such diverse and interesting choices (not even Bioware) and they bring up very mature themes.

Valve. They are the perfect creators. I doubt anyone would even let them into hell.

Blizzard. Their games are polished until there is nothing left of them, have mediocre story and I still love them for some reason.

Obvious choices would be Valve and Gearbox being an FPS junkie. Their games has that quality that sets them apart from the others.

Another would be Ubisoft. Again they have their distinct style and i believe their work apart from the AC series are very underated. They clearly pack an intense combination of talent in their team. I believe they are mostly hold back by the management.

Why into Hell?
I think it is more suitable to follow a Dev in After-life in my opinion.

Anyway, my choices are:

Atlus: Shin Megami Tensei and Disgaea series for life!!!
Id Software: Doom, Quake, Heretic, Hexen, Rise of the Triad.
Valve: CounterStrike and Half-Life.
Blizzard: For the old games like Starcraft and the first two Diablo games.
Black Isle Studios: Motherf*cking Planescape: Torment!!!!!

And many others, but really these are my top choices I have noe in my head.

Are there any devs you've been a fan of for years that has yet to truly let you down? Discuss!
BioWare. Sure, the ending sucked, but it was five minutes of suck at the end of 120-ish hours of awesome fun. I'd call that a good trade.

Sure, Dragon Age 2 wasn't as good as the original, but they at least tried to do something other than copy/paste a successful formula, and I have faith that they'll learn from the mistakes of DA2.

Basically it's that I've never played a BioWare game where they hadn't significantly changed things from the prior installment. They get a lot of flak for that, but then series like CoD get a lot of flak for doing the opposite, so given the choice I'm going to support the guys who are at least trying to do new things each time.

I cant think of a single one sure there are devs I like but really its just I like some of their games not all their output. There are very few people I would follow into hell willingly let alone anything else, no dev is worth entering into eternal damnation and suffering for.

Atlus Software, although technically between Shin Megami Tensei and Persona games, they've got it double-covered as is.

Now, let's have Persona 5 soon, hmm?

None. If I followed any developer in to hell I'd lose my chance to see new names rise to the pinnacle of critical acclaim.

Obsidian, for reason already explained by many (plus I already donated $140 to Kickstarter, so I think I already AM following them to hell, in a sense)

CDProjekt (RED) for their currently nigh flawless track record in... well everything

Insomniac for giving me my favorite franchises on PS1 and PS2

Ken Levine / Irrational

"You look at bit down, Mr. Levine, everthing go alright with that nosey reporter? Aww, don't worry *grabs bat* that story won't make it to press! What? No! Don't you try and talk me out of this, you silver tongued devil, nobody's gonna take your great game narrative for granted on my watch! I'll be back in an hour or two. Have bleach and caustic soda... *walks off*"

"That's the last thing he said. I've never seen him since. I'm glad he's gone"
