Other than that, um... perhaps Hogwarts. I know it's cheesy and a bit predictable, but who wouldn't want to be educated there?

Shout out: Discworld, such a strange and varied place. Would take some adjusting but I'd love to live there.

The Star Trek universe. They have every need catered for with holodecks and replicators and earth is a utopia.

^^ This, so long as I remained 'me'. I would get the replicator(s) to make a lot of jeans and t-shirts (I refuse to wear a unitard!), spend a lot of free time in a holodeck (now that is true immersive gameing), and scare the locals by listining to my heavy metal. Maybe take the occasional trip off-world, you know see the sights.

I would be far more cautious with inebriation in a world where you could fall off the edge forever. The prospect of going anywhere yet coming back to the same bed everynight is definitely a plus though.

So, I've had quite a bit of time to think lately, having broken my arm, I hadn't been able to go to work until quite recently, whilst I was homebound and extremely bored, I got to thinking, just how dull our life CAN be, and just wondered Escapists, if there was one fictional reality that you could turn our reality into, what would it be? and for what reasons?

For me, it would easily be Pokemon, for so many reasons that I just don't have the time or patience to list them all.

I think many people would probably go for Pokemon and have many reasons themselves that they will surely explain if they post.

Who wouldn't want something like a little Growlithe following them around?!

I think many people would probably go for Pokemon and have many reasons themselves that they will surely explain if they post.

Considering we just had this thread and half of the posters there wanted to live in that particular monstrosity of a world for inexplicable reasons, this is a reasonable prediction.

Seriously, while the things are just cards or a 32 bit digital figure its understandable to overlook the problems, but what exactly is so appealing about beating the crap out of animals in order to enslave them into fighting other animals that you would want to do it in person?

Because Pokemon fight for you in a mutual relationship. Battles are not fatal or nearly fatal and we have rules and such to prevent death.

Also, they have the intellect of a human 10 year old (not maturity) and have powers, they also love you if treated right.

Also technology in the Pokemon world is stuff we would have in like 2030.

Also guns are hardly used.

Middle Earth if I get to be some kick-ass warrior elf who lives in Rivendell(it may be a bit of a cliché, but it's what I used to imagine for myself 24/7 when I was a kid).

For futuristic settings, Mass Effect (pre-ending) or Star Trek. I like those more optimistic visions of the future. In the Mass Effect universe I obviously have to basically be Commander Shepard as she is in my play-throughs, complete with all the squadmates and crew from the games In the Star Trek universe I'd want to be chief of security on an awesome, top of the range starship.

Yeah, I always desperately wanted to join the military. Sadly my medical record prevents me from doing so, so I guess this is all wish-fulfilment.

It would all technically be one power: shapeshifting. The body puts itself back together to the form I take if damaged (regen) and I can slip my body molecules between matter (phasing)

I would choose the DC Universe. People in the Marvel universe are jerks on average.
