I think the coolest possible place to live is the underwater city in bioshock*(forgive me for forgetting the name), but stick it in a Halo. Then kill all the zombies and aliens, except grunts cause they're funny to watch.
An underwater 1950's esk selfsustained city in a giant floating ring in space......except shipping costs would be massive!(get it? "shipping" costs.)

or if you found that distasteful then i would have to say veridian city. (if you know it then a half cookie to you)

EDIT: *Rapture! thats the name!

Whatever wonderful town the levels of Katamari games take place in. So much whimsy and crack in one place has to be good for your mental health.

U O me a half cookie, pokemon fanatic! Otherwise, to differ from wow fans, I'd say kaineng center in GW.

Definitely Silvermoon City in WoW. Lovely architecture, self cleaning (yay brooms), a lovely forest to stroll in just outside the door, ethereal music piping everywhere, and gorgeous elven men to gawk at.

Failing that, Dalaran would be pretty cool... love the look of it, great shopping, and easy access to all the other major cities. :)

The city in Mirrors Edge, sure it's totalitarian government but it's nice and clean and apart from a plague of Free runners it's super safe and to me that is really great for my sheep mind, Or Rapature before the crazy starts.

Hmmm, this is a tough one. I would pick one of those central cities from Pokemon. Nothing especially bad like mass destruction or death seems to happen there.

I'd probably pick Marbule from Chrono Cross or Medina from Chrono Trigger. Then everyone in town would hate me for being a human.
I am actually playing Chrono Cross again, and I have to agree with Marbule. Of all the towns in the game, it looks the coolest. That and the Chronopolis.

Orgrimmar, Thunder Bluff would give me dizziness, Undercity is rancid, Silvermoon is full of annoying elven pricks and Sen'Jin barely counts.
If you study it more closely, you'll see that Silvermoon is not only full of annoying elven pricks, but also very closely resembles a ginormous brothel.

Personally, I'd chose Dalaran because of the brilliant design, or Darnassus for the atmosphere.

Taking it away from WoW, though, I've always liked the Clock Town from Majora's Mask.

Either Zanarkand (pre-Sin attack), Besaid, or Hyrule. Any of those places seem pretty cool.

I'm gonna say "Racoon City" from the Resident Evil Series! Ode' to the Zombie Heads out there!

Athkatla, from Baldur's Gate II. Sorry, the paladins and the thieves crack me up. That place has got to be a funny one to live in even before Irenicus puts in an appearance. Barring that, it might be fun to live in one of the cities from the Shivering Isles expansion of Oblivion.

You make a really valid point..

The problem is, I don't want to be one of those naked guys assaulting you at night.
I remember that place, all of a sudden.

It scared the crap out of me *shame*
