Mostly my index finger which is good because when I burned my right hand, all I needed was my thumbs and index fingers which were okay. I never need to use a triggr and a bumper on the same side and it's probably something devs to when assigning controls so it doesn't feel weird.

Heheheh...scared me there with the title:)

OT: I mostly use my index finger as sort of an all purpose finger (heheheh).

And yeah, I figured if nothing else, the title would get people's attention pretty fast.

I only really bring it up because I just noticed it today. I never really thought about it before. But after a 8 hour long stretch of Dead Island, my middle fingers were hurting, and I oculdn't figure out why (like a true derp) for a while. Then, I grabbed the stick again and I was all like, "Oooooooooooooooooooooh... neat."
They really should have mapped the Kick to a face button rather than left bumper. Especially considering the fact that i use kick 5-6x more than any other combat ability, and Y and B serve basically no purpose in combat
I wish they'd have made it the left trigger. But the thing I really hate is using the x button for everything. I can't tell you how many times I've wasted a medkit on someone while trying to trade with them.
But then they'd have to use a different more awkward button for engaging throwing. What does Y even do? I can't think of it off the top of my head...

Uhm... Oh! Reload. ^_^

That one took me a minute, too. Maybe because I rarely use guns.

Oh wow I just realized. I can't remember the last time I played a Ps3 game that required me to press those buttons o_O

I generally use my middle finger. Occasionally I might try both... Oh wait. We're not talking about that. Never mind.

I never really thought about it. Pretty sure that I just use my index finger to hit the R2/L2 buttons. There might be exceptions where I use my middle finger, but that would have to be pretty specific.

When moving from the N64 to the Gamecube, I experimented with the dual-finger approach for games that used the Z button frequently, but it never stuck. The ergonomics of the Dualshock and the Xbox controllers particularly discourage this arrangement, and most games prioritize the lower triggers above the lil' bumpers anyway.

I only use my Index fingers for shoulder button hitting use. I just alternate. I've stopped playing games before, or played differently, if they require both at once like MoH Airborne. I never understand how people can double-finger it. My grip on the controller is too light if I do that.

Lol true story I'm not entirely sure i've even found more than 1 gun. Kinda makes Purna seem pointless, bunch of skills to prop up something you never ever get. Glad i went with Logan.

Oh, you get more in act 3. A lot more. Not more than melee, but there are enough regular human enemies in the jungle to steal gun stuff off of. ^_^

Thumbs.

I am that hardcore.
I've seen it done for serious.
How does that even work? o_O I mean... moving and shooting at once must surely be impossible that way...
Palms of the hands.
Ok... wait, what? I'm going to need a diagram here... because I seriously simply cannot fathom how that would work.

Four main fingers, grip the two wings of the controller, for an xbox the indexes will be on the curve at the bottom that starts the trigger section

The first joint section of your thumb, on the LB and RB, the tips on the trigger. The heel/palms on the thumbsticks, and to move around you wiggle your arm.

It's insane, it's also possible.

So Purna is the Dead island equivalent of Charmander: makes the early game significantly more difficult, but massively overpowered in the end?

The one thing I hate about Logan though is that if you die before you pick up recently thrown weapons they have the nasty habit of not being there anymore when you get back. I've lost a lot of really good stuff to that... if i play through again I'm definitely gonna use Sam B.
