Kreia from Kotor II

probably the only human boss in history that can kick your arse without hands. And her style, personality and just overall character were excellently crafted how many other old, wise yet powerful women have we seen in games since?

Hitman. He is 100% business and 100% serious.
Agent 47 is a well-constructed "bogeyman" type character, very good choice sir.

I honestly couldn't name my all-time favourite character, but I'd have to say Samus is up there.

Gordon Freeman. He's awesome because he has next to no character development at all, yet everyone loves him. Now that's DAMNED good design there.
I second this motion.

The G-Man. Valve have given him a very well defined personality but have managed to reveal almost nothing about him, other then the fact that he's simultaneously everywhere at once and he is ALWYAS WAHCTING YUUUUU!

But seriously, I am very intrigued by him.

Selphie from FF8 is really well done I believe. She's the all or nothing character, absurdly happy when she doesn't have anything to be sad about but when she crashes she digs a crater bigger than Trabia Garden. She doesn't get a whole lot of character development but what she does get is wonderfully done.

Also, when Ragnarok starts moving I think it's brilliant that the rest of the group predict her word for word. ("Woo-hoo! We're flying!")
This, also I think Squall of course, because he looks very cool. (sorry about the lack of depth, that's just all I got.)

In my opinion, the Striders and the dropships/gunships are special mentions of wonderful design concept of synths (life forms turned machine). But I gotta give it to the Big Daddy. Big Daddies would be a simple bodyguard concept. But being present in a game in past time and in underwater setting, I just loved the design of these monstrosities, especially the Bouncer-type.
How do you steal my freaking thoughts in the OP?!?!?!
I agree %100

Mr Blue from Bioforge ("Return the fork or I'll command it to destroy you!") http://www.poetv.com/video.php?vid=58657&big=3x

Cloud, just to spite everyone.

Nah, but seriously, I'd say alot of characters fit my bill for brilliant creation. Though I'll have to give it to Cid from the Final Fantasy series. He's such a great character he can actually change in each one and still be awesome.

Gordon Freeman is awesome; he'll kick your ass, and then do physics.

Also, no love for Geralt from The Witcher yet?

He'll kill monsters and screw your wife, because he is fricken awesome.
