This is pretty straight foward, Which game company do you think make the worst games, and which make the best games in your opinion. i understand that answers will vary between people depending on what genre of games they like, but it will be interesting nonetheless.

Since im a RPG fan, i think the Squaresoft made the best games, and ironically Square-enix now makes the worst games. Atlus currently make the best games ( imo ) and square-enix still make the worst.

Square Enix is definitely up there (Apologizing for FF14...nice work guys) but I also have to nominate Obsidian Entertainment. Don't get me wrong, some of their games are great, but for me all Obsidian games have had the poor habit of being buggy and unplayable at some point or another (KotOR 2, Neverwinter Nights 2, New Vegas...etc.)

Blitz Games.

Although that might be a bit harsh considering they only tend to make licensed shovelware. I guess that's just the business they're in.

LJN.

A little Backstory : LJN Made poorly built Movie-Licensed games, for the NES, and SNES. None of them are good, and if you own an Emulation/NES/Are a fan of AVGN, you know what I'm talkin' about.

I wanna say THQ but there have been a couple of good games they've made. Can't fully agree that Square-Enix sucks but yeah...they're sorta going down the drain. Love Atlus though!!

I'm getting more and more skeptical about ubisoft with every release since Rainbow Six Vegas 2. They're clearly milking The assassin's creed and Splinter Cell franchises. they're quickly becoming the perfect example of post-recession fear sequeling!

Bioware.... GOT YA!

But in all seriousness Valve. GOT YA AGAIN!

I think every company has one good game to call its own. If I have to say its the ones who make those "truck simulator UK" things that I see in GAME.

R.I.P My beloved Squaresoft.

Square-Enix have been destroying what used to be one of my favourite series for a while now.

Since X (Yeah this one introduced linearity but I'd hoped by now they'd manage to bring the world map back, vehicles and all.) it's been turned into a costume simulator, several successive long narrow hallways and an absolute arsefest of an MMO. I've had the misfortune of borrowing the first (Urgh, I even finished the damn thing), trying the second and merely watching the last and I've already had enough of them.

I mean honestly, it's sort of nice that they apologised, but what other company has had to apologise because they are aware that they made an awful game?

Rant over >.<

For some reason I knew square-enix was gonna be here, but yes I gotta go for square-enix, ever since the 2 fused almost no good final fantasy have come out of the series, and I say ALMOST the remakes of the old games like 3 and 4 for the DS and 1 and 2 for the PSP is still pretty fun, but then again those are remakes, soooooooooooo.

I actually dont mind this type of games, they are for a very niched audience and I am glad they dont stop making those games because they mean that there is hope for niche gaming.

It like Flight Simulator, most people dont like the game but the people who work in aviation love the game.

OT: For me the worst is Capcom, they only do remakes and crappy new IP's, a new Street Fighter IV is coming out. Yeah, its the fourth Street Fighter IV. Capcom is a joke.

Worst? Honestly, picking any other company other than those Wii shovelware devs is probably an exaggeration, but that isn't fun, now is it?

Anyhow, my least favorite company after late is probably Treyarch. Although they FINALLY fixed some problems with the Black Ops PC version, it doesn't excuse the months I have had to wait for the game to be playable. And even then, the multiplayer isn't that great.

Favorite developer is Obsidian even with all their horrible, horrible bugginess, I think they still do a much better job at writing stories than any other developer nowdays.

Any company who reverts to combining two separate entities into one game, like AlternatePFG said above. Street Fighter vs. DC Comics and crap like that is just a revelation that they have run out of good ideas.

That Game Company, probably the most famous developer of a completely pointless and braindead game.

Treyarch, Square Enix, Bethesda

Treyarch games are hollow shells of their former Infinity Ward selves. Terrible hit detection and bad map design are obvious issues.

Square Enix hasn't made a good game since the PS1 days in my opinion.

Bethesda releases games that are about as buggy as anything you can imagine. There's really no excuse for this. I understand they release huge, empty worlds in their games, but you would think after the first game they released that was full of bugs, they would learn to leave mroe time for playtesting.
