Super meat boy.

I think that game was designed to generate rage, possibly as an alternative to fossil fuels.

CoD.
Look at those casual gamers, whooping my arse.
Would be Battlefield, which I am worse at, but I have come to terms with my terrability and don't mind it as much.

Dont rage much now I usually just go FFS thats enough and stop before it goes to far but traditionally fighting games have made me rage pretty hard either at the computer for being a cheating piece of shit or myself for playing pathetically.

People abusing lag or teabagging you online also pisses me off especially when you know there is no way you would lose to what they are doing offline.

Back in the day games like Battletoads and Punch out used to make me rage like a mofo.

The only reason I still play fighters is because it also has some of the highest highs in gaming as well as the lowest lows, the times you have snatched victory from the jaws of defeat make for awesome memories then there are the other times when you did the opposite and you just think I cannot believe I just threw that away.

I rage at XCOM: Enemy Unknown. I love that game, but it takes the dice rolls that all strategy games rely on but KEEPS them. If you sacrificed 2 guys to get a berserker's health down to one and to get the one guy that has the stunner within range of an enemy and then the stun FAILS, reloading does NOTHING. The dice rolls are already computed a certain amount in advance so you get the same outcome every time. Your only hope is to pick a different adjacent square before stunning and hope one of those has a higher roll. And that's only for stunning.

Lol me and my friends used to play L4D1 versus religiously at one point. People used to rage quit in minutes of playing us after a while that it was impossible to get a game.

But erm i cant really think. Probably Dear esther

Mario Kart on the ole SNES. All of the character AIs in that game are the cheatingest sons of a bitches that have ever existed. I have a broken bumper on one of my controllers because of that game.

Do you mean Rage at difficulty and fairness and the like
Or just rage in general?

Because if it's just general RAGE then it's Mass Effect 3
Because it has no redeeming quality, and every second of play is a personal insult to me and everyone else who liked the first 2 Mass Effect games.

If it's difficulty then most recently it's Borderlands 2's Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode.
I must have ground for upwards of 200 hours to get all the best level 50 guns and I can't kill the first batch of marauders in UVHM

But back in the day it was Jak 3. All the damn racing just wasn't fair, one fuck up and you had to start all over.
I broke more PS2 controllers than I can count.
And that was back in the day of corded controlers, so when I threw them I'd pull my PS2 off the shelf, It was bad.

I recently played through Sonic the Hedgehog (Sonic 06). I didn't really rage for the most part...except of course during the snowboarding section you have to do as Sonic at the White Acropolis. Sonic 06 is undeniably broken but it's at least playable for the most part. Then you get to THAT section and it's just a brick wall of fail and snow.

As far as "I hate this game!" goes, only Final Fantasy XIII and Pokemon Black&White, for... reasons I've covered extensively on these forums.
Have you played 13-2? It fixed a lot of the shit that was in 13.

OT: My most recent one would be Bayonetta. There are some places in the game where it's just bullshit to do on Climax difficulty. Especially those 2 gimmicky piece of shit levels that go on for way too long.

Also, fuck Gracious & Glorious.

Sort of.

I played about two or three hours or it, thought it was far superior to XIII, and then got distracted by a ton of other games that came out that I still had yet to play. I think The Darkness 2 was one of them. Boy, that was a pretty good game... much better than The Darkness, even if it wasn't quite as... unique. Way too short, though. I easily would've enjoyed another six hours in that campaign.

Pokemon!
Why?
Zubat...... Every time you go into a cave Zubat, you take a step, Zubat, you have a low health Pokemon and no repels? Guess what! ZUBAT! Then you make it out of the cave, with your last Pokemon, that's under leveled and at two health, and there's your rival. Then, you lose the fight, and have to do the whole thing over again.

Mass Effect 3 multiplayer.

I have a weird love-hate relationship with it. It's a fun game, the classes, powers and guns are awesome. From Krogan Vanguards to Geth Engineers, Stasis to Electrical Shotguns, there's a lot of really exciting stuff to play.

...But the enemies are the worst cheaters ever. All the bosses have an insta-kill ability they'll use if you ever come into melee range, except lag means you can be up to half a room away and they'll still grab you. Nothing you can do. Add in a healthy amount of stunlock-till-you-die ability chains enemies can do. And the fact that they'll stab you to death immediately if you medi-gel and you have no immunity means once you're down they'll keep you down for good. Add in stuff like banshees teleporting through walls, and geth hunters being immune to stun. There's just a whole lot of bullshit AI mechanics.

I love the game so much! And I hate the cheating enemy so much...
That's the one I was going to go with. ME3 multiplayer does indeed have some of the "cheatiest" (probably not a word) enemies I've seen in a long time. I've also had banshees teleporting insane distances or a brute walking straight through the door you just closed as if it wasn't there. The thing that made me rage the most about that game though had to be the situations where the game decided you were in range to be killed by one of the enemies with a one-hit melee (phantom, brute, banshee and the like) even though your character isn't actually close enough to be grabbed by the enemy. So what happens? Your character slides across the level towards the enemy (completely interrupting anything you are doing at the time) and into their melee attack animation. To say I turned the air blue at that point is probably an understatement.

We probably don't need to go into the details of the early days of the Dragoons/Geth Bombers as that has been rather well documented.

I, like a few others I noticed, have reached a point where games no longer have the power to make me angry...or so I thought.

The two games that re-opened that door of wanting to throw my controller through the TV screen aren't video games at all; Pinball Arcade and Magic The Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers. TVM (solo) on Borderlands 2 is among the worst offenders as well, mainly because I feel that it demands you play with another person to experience all of the game and not have it be some nightmarish endeavor that you survive by the skin of your teeth, with it still being a lot of luck.

But yea, I noticed during Pinball that I was cursing at the TV, like, seething with fury and saying some foul, horrible stuff about its mother; it stood out because it had been so long since that had happened and I found it interesting that it was pinball that had the hold on me. Shortly thereafter I learned that the AI is a cheating sum'a'***** in MtG. The End.

Bloody League of Legends. That game is so rage inducing that just wow. Whether it's playing against some overpowered champions or having a 'team' that approaches suicide fights like free cookies I can't help but feel like my blood pressure is rising constantly. In some LoL games I'm almost raging much as this guy...
