Ninja'd with Mass Effect 2. Definitely the best game I've ever played.

Max Payne, Deus Ex, Morrowind, Monkey Island, System Shock 2, and many more. There are just too many to choose just one.

On the other other end of the spectrum, we find the CoD series...

Personally, it's Deus Ex, Mass Effect and Morrowind. They all have their problems, but they have come nearest to perfection for me.

bastard...2 of those are what I would have picked (MGS3 and Half-Life 2. I wasnt a major fan of Bioshock though I can see the appeal and I haven't played Castle Crashers)

Little Big Adventure.

Seriously I keep feeling like a broken record when I say this. The controls aren't perfect and the english voice acting is atrocious, but aside from that, everything about it is good, it's efficent, it'll run on fucking anything, it looks good, it's quirky, it's difficult, it's entertaining and it's full of memorable, stand-out characters.

Majora's mask - if it wasn't for the time system.

Ocarina of Time - if it wasn't for the fact after beating the boss it just reverted to before beating the boss, if it allowed the player to run around in a now perfect world and have one last chat with the npcs, this game would really have been literally perfect.

Portal is personally my favorite game. It wasn't even too short for me, which was some peoples problem; I honestly have no opinion on game length, because I've found that a longer game does not always make for a better game. If the game length fits the game, than that is the perfect length for it.

Half Life 2
Knights of the Old Republic
Medieval 2 Total War
Company of Heroes
Rise of Nations
Call of Duty 2
Medal of Honor Allied Assault
Need for Speed Underground 2
Portal
Mass Effect 1 and 2
Homeworld 2

I can't think of any more for me.
