Little Big Adventure.

Seriously I keep feeling like a broken record when I say this. The controls aren't perfect and the english voice acting is atrocious, but aside from that, everything about it is good, it's efficent, it'll run on fucking anything, it looks good, it's quirky, it's difficult, it's entertaining and it's full of memorable, stand-out characters.
Wow I didn't know of anyone else that mentions this game... it's fun and yes, ran on just about everything. I wish I could get a copy of it thta works nowadays though...
Actually, there's a patch you can get for both of them, that makes them work on at least XP (I avoided Vista like the plauge and I don't have 7 so I couldn't tell you about those ones) but I've been able to run both of them off the CD no problem, music FMV and all.

is defanetly the place to go to get LBA running again. Totally worth it.

The Witcher.

Simply because the game mechanics are tailored around the books' distinct atmosphere. Not the other way around. Visually, story and gameplay-wise it perfectly recreates the life of a prone to philosophy, genetically modified monster slayer and the world surrounding him.

The main problems were that the game was buggy and unpolished quite a bit above the accepted level, but CD Projekt handled it marvelously with the free Enhanced Edition.

To some it may not look like much, but it struck me as a great game when i started reading the books and found myself in familiar waters, reading about characters and places i've already met and seen, that made an impression on me without relying on their source material origins. They were a one to one adaption in every tangible way, not a mere bland copy.

The gameplay too perfectly incorporated in the story. It's one of the few RPG that force you to roleplay, the world is a whole and you interact with it in different ways, not just by killing things and then selling things. Combat with it's focus on preparation, knowledge of your enemy and positioning is also a great take from the novels.

The game might as well have been the source for the books, i'd have hardly noticed.

Well I would say Mafia and KotOR, but of course, they are already perfect.

The Sands of Time, the only real "bad" thing about it is the combat, and it's not awful - I'd just rather be platforming.

I think Donkey Kong Country 2 is pretty awesome at least as far as platformers go.

Levels are very well varied, Music is awesome, Controls are spot on, lots of side stuff to collect, difficulty progression is never too much.

Fallout 3

I love the fact that it's set in my hometown and I can literally go to where I used to work (Union Station) and kill super mutants. Oh, and Metroid Prime. Best console shooter ever, hands down, no argument. I can back it up, if you'd like.

ET for the atari 2600 of course!
Why do you think that is game that comes close to being perfect?
Because it is obviously the best game ever, just ask the hypothetical millions of fans that will be burned at the stake for playing such a godly game!

Fallout 3, if only it could of had a little more variety of enemies...

The Pokemon games, if only they had a slightly better story...

Super Mario Galaxy, same as above...

Probably Twilight Princess.

Okay, so Ocarina of Time contains lots and lots of nostalgia, but let's face it: Twilight Princess IS better in every way.

I agree. The fact that so many users are going on record to extol OoT makes me feel like an old man.

Chrono Trigger. I couldn't think of a single complaint before the new dungeons in the DS version came along. But the original game itself is pretty much flawless to me.
