I like Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, when your in the environment, cutscenes wise it's not that great.

I don't think I can pick a favorite, but I prefer stuff that isn't photorealistic. Okami, Muramasa, Valkyria Chronicles, and Windwaker all come to mind immediately as beautiful games. When it comes to more realistic games, Bioshock is probably my favorite. I've seen Crysis played on a better computer than mine, and I can see that it's probably the best from a technical standpoint. I just don't care for the aesthetic of it.

Aesthetic = Mass Effect (it's like Syd Mead and Ron Cobb had a love child :D)

Realism = Crysis (why even argue this?)

I can tell your a console gamer, so let me end this right now.

Crysis on max.

It looks better than real life.
When I looked at the water I had an aneurysm, then I was brought back to life by the "God beams". God damn that is one good looking game. Too bad my computer has an aneurysm whenever I try to put it on high....Well at least Crysis 2 will have something like that on the 360.

Hey, no argument from me. I've never played the game, but always hear about it as the standard for realistic and beautiful graphics. And the game is how old now?
Three years I believe. And Crysis 2 is said to look even better if you can believe that. Unless you're playing on a console that is, they turned the graphics down for consoles.
You mean consoles DONT have as good graphics as PC's????? I never would have known [cough cough]

I enjoy the graphical style of most Vanillaware games like Odin Sphere and then there's games like Shadow of the Colossus that just have that 'umph' that makes you want to look at every nook-n-cranny just to see what's there.

I'm not a real 'graphics whore' and would rather play a two dimensional game with three dimensional characters but, still, sometimes playing a pretty game is nice...

Let me counter that

Spot the differences!
Holy shite. The only two things I noticed that detirred from them was the grass in picture 2 and the fact that the trees look flat in picture 1. Otherwise I have just dropped a load.

Well, Crysis is kind of untouchable in the photo-realism department. The water effects for Bioshock however are some of the prettiest damn things I've ever seen in a game.

Crisis 1, because they nerfed the graphics for the sequel for some unknown reason. However I do really like to look at Shadow of The Colossus.

Yes, I definetly agree with Shadow of the Colossus.

Despite being on the PS2, those graphics were amazing.

There are a lot of really gorgeous games out there so I can't pick just one.

Crysis, Uncharted 2, Gran Turismo 5, Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time, Mass Effect 2.

Every single one of those games are incredible in their own way. Crysis is the most visually advanced, Uncharted 2 has some of the best animation and environments I've ever seen, GT5 is goddamn photorealistic, Ratchet and Clank is a Pixar movie, and Mass Effect 2 is glorious Sci-Fi.

Yeah... for me, appealing is not realistic. Anyway... the Myst games (from Riven onwards, the first not as much) are all really breathtaking. Revelation is pure porn for my eyeballs.
Hear, hear! The Myst series looks fantastic and has some great stories to boot.

I'm equally fond of about anything on the Source engine. Just about every corner of the internet says it's getting too old, but most of the titles on it seem charming to me.

Also, ASCII will never be outdated, so go download Dwarf Fortress or Nethack or something and let your imagination butt in for a while.

You don't have to have a superiority complex to recognize that Crysis is still the most photorealistic game on the market.

There's something about it that puts me off, though... looks too photorealistic or something.
For sheer visual style... hmm... I'm gonna go with RDR (even though I've never played it... console-only releases... *grumble*

Dont get me wrong, I know it is the best looking, but some guys were being douches about it because its a PC exclusive.
