I was watching some Killzone 2 vids and the reload system looks like the best I have ever seen. Hell, the first Killzone was the best I've seen at the time. The reload system in other games just seem so...typical. I saw a video of game play and this reload looks awesome at around 4 minutes, check it out.

I liked the reload animations in Resident Evil 4-- I don't usually pay much attention to them, but the fact that I even remember RE4's must mean that they were pretty sweet.

[insert favourite game here}

What exactly do you mean by best reload system?
So far it seems to be more along the lines of "I think it looks cool" in the way of responses here.

Edit: Although in retrospect Gears of war was a bit different, though I never understood how reloading better would make your bullets do more damage.

Actual system wise, I prefer more realistic games like Operation Flashpoint that keep track of seperate magazines with their set amount of ammo that you can change between, instead of a pool of amunition that magically fills into your magazine when you take it out and put it back in again.

...reload "system?" How is reloading in that video different from any other game? The animations are all right, I guess, but not really different from any other game. I guess I'm not seeing whatever it is you're trying to show us.

EDIT: I'm going to agree with Iron Ninja, I like games that actually make you conserve ammo and make it so that you discard the bullets left in your magazine when you reload.

I was starting to wonder if any games actually did that. The number is a lot less than I would have expected, at the least.

Directly on topic, I suppose I like MGS4 reload animations, though I don't play many shooters, and am somewhat bias towards the Tanegashima.

I mean the one that looks the best and i guess "feels" the best if you know what i mean.
I hate to nag, but that's not really a reloading system per se.

It's more a question of what reload animation you think looks the best.

But everyone apart from me seems to have understood what you meant, so just ignore me, I'm in a bad mood or something.

Gears's didn't make sense, but it was a surprising amount of fun. I also liked the "jam" animations. "C'mon, c'mon!" While he bangs on the gun.

I remember the original counterstrike animations being good. I would keep buying lesser weapons because the animations felt so... right.

Far Cry 2, I guess. Although I prefer my guns to be invunerable against bullets, explosions, and mud, it feels cool to take cover for a moment to unjam your shitty AK47 and continue cappin' some African mercenaries.

Sure, the active reload in Gears is a cool concept, but I declare it nullified due to the fact that it's a mediocre game.

For the absolute most evil reloading around, that point goes to STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl, especially whilst playing a mod. Try surviving a 30-man enemy assault when your gun jams every five seconds.
